one time i got a new job on 3rd shift and then the next day a freaking construction crew came in to rip out the woods and build a subdivision about 20 feet through the woods behind my house. i suggest lots of fans and earplugs. or maybe torching the equipment. that was my last option!

They are free to work between about 7AM and 8PM without any chance of complaining, inc sataurdays....and sundays actually but thats unlikely.
during these hours then can make as much noise as they like provided it within H&S guidelines.
In fact, "disruption from builders" is specifically excluded from any objections within planning department rules.
Not saying its morally right, but thats the situation.

builders have to make a living as well you know,we don't like working Saturdays but sometimes we have to,to make up for lost time, due to bad weather, late deliveries, awkward customers changing their minds,& nosey neighbours complaining about the noise.try & get out more,GET A LIFE.

Check with local council, some areas have planning restrictions which restrict the times builders can work.

If they are working in the evening you may be covered by the noise abatement act - check with the council.

Depends how early they start and how late they finish. I suggest you confront them if they are working 'out of hours'.If they are working for a company, complain to the company. I feel sorry for you, I think its going to happen to us shortly.!Best of luck.
