I live/own a flat in a new, modern block. My trouble is that my neighbours, on both sides, are constantly cooking curries, maybe not ventilating their flats as they should do, and so the communial hallway continually smells of their curries. And this isn't pleasdant first thing in the morning or late at night. I'm wary of asking them to change their eating habits but if the smell was rubbish or pets I would complain. Can you help?

The garage door will still be opening and closing, it will be a garage again someday. Any alternatives to actually professionally carpeting it, something that will make it homey? soft on the feet? besides those rubber mats?

We are in the middle of searching for a new house to buy, but we are having a hard time finding anything that meets our needs. It seems anything that has the land we want in the location we want, has only 2 bedrooms. Should we consider buying a smaller home and doing an addition? Does anyone have experience in this? Is it worth it and do you have any advice?

My boiler has gone and we have no hot water. It is a tank that is heated electrically (i believe therefore that it is an immersion system) and the power light has gone off.

I have opened up the box to try and locate a fuse but cannot find one, the wires all seem to be connected fine so whats going on???

Any sensible answers would be much appreciated.

I'm getting a new washing machine (at last). I've been using a top loading model and looking around the stores, the washing arm is now totally different, so I'm considering buying a front loader. Can you tell me which you prefer top or front loading washing machine?

Any tips on what at-home products I can use on a laminate wood floor? I have used Murphy's Oil Soap in the past but, I don't want to use anything that will leave the floor slick--I have a toddler at home that just started walking and running. Will vinegar diluted with plain water do the trick?

I'm looking for advice from people who have had this problem, or can at least give me a serious answer.

I seem to have an unusually high tolerance for messiness, specifically dry clutter (paper, shoes, etc.). I tell myself I'm going to fix it, I put myself of schedules, but I have a horrendous case of the "It's not too bad, I'll do it later" syndrome, and it piles up. We don't entertain in our home, so I can't use that as motivation. I was raised in a similar environment where housekeeping just wasn't a priority. And I want SO bad to change. My husband flipped a switch somewhere along the lines and it irritates him (unless it's his mess), and now we're expecting a child. I am obviously aware that when babies go mobile they get into EVERYthing, but just as important, I want to break the cycle. But I have to get in the hang of things before Baby gets here.

**I do NOT have science experiements growing in my house, just a lot of dry, disorganized mess.

Hi All,

I have an oil furnace in a house we just moved into. The unit is for the heat and cooling together. It will blow cold air when AC or heat is on, but no hot air. Any suggestions? We have tried re-setting the furnace, and that doesnt work. We have also thought that maybe it was the thermostat but that also seems to be working just fine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We really don't have the money to call someone to come look at it.
