No, Pineapples grows on a plant close to the ground. I've have seen Pineapple fields in Haiwaii (Dole Plantation).

No, they grow on a small plant very close to the soil surface, in very warm climates.
Depending on where you live you can actually get the top of a pineapple to grow, just like you can get the top of a carrot to grow leaves.

NO It grows from the ground from the leaves that u cut off from the top when u clean it . Just cut it off about 1/2" down and plant in the ground. apple rinds are good fertilizer.
