Have you considered using an automotive alternator? Many have built in regulators, good for up to 1000 watts, and are certainly common and inexpensive.

because the longer answer infers it may produce negligible potential, dc or ac or a number of each and every. you want a bridge rectifier for best consequences if it produces ac, yet a small 0.5 lifeless a million.5 volt cellular (degree cellular voltage formerly and after) and a diode in series will do for a try. 100 RPM for one minute will likely value the cellular somewhat, if the motor is generating modern-day. that is going to favor to instruct swifter to value a 12 volt battery yet some hundred rpm is likely sufficient for an rather sluggish value. Most large motors are AC. I have always wondered if there was a way using a rectifier to use a regular box fan as it is and convert the current to DC to charge a battery. That's going to be my next "trash" project, I think. (I'm writing a book about how to make things out of garbage)

I agree with above, car alternators are used in this type of project. They must be connected to a battery to work though (for the rotor excitation)
