After use, hang them over the shower rod. Do not heap them on the floor, or put them into the laundry basket. Wash in hot water, use 1 cup vinegar in the rinse cycle, then dry on hot.

Well mold usually is the result of something being damp and left in an enclosed space. So I would say to never let your towels stay wet for long, put them in the dryer or allow them to air out and dry someplace open and not humid or wet.

frequent washing. You may need to stick to lighter colors and add bleach to the wash every so often. I've made some curious colored towels by bleaching medium to dark colored towels.
Also wash in the hottest water, dry in a hot dryer or completely dry out in the sun.

Ad some baking soda when you wash them. Or, I use Arm and Hammer detergent. I don't know whether it has baking soda in it, but it works.

Wash them often, add baking soda to your load and make sure the are dried COMPLETELY when put away.
