I want to buy some Paperwhites that are marked half price. The only problem is that they have started to sprout (grow). The bag contains ten bulbs and I only want to grow two or three at a time. Is there anyway I can slow down the growth once they have begun to sprout?

Once a bulb has begun to sprout it cannot be stopped without actually using chemical inhibitors to do so.
Even keeping them in the dark will only work for so long, they will eventually begin to sprout.
Bulbs flower in a season, die back then are only dormant for so long before they have to grow again, sorry but maybe you will have to find some room for them all if you want to purchase them.
If you think about it, they are cheap is for this very reason, we reduce stock prices all the time because of this.

It's a great deal on the Paperwhites, and once planted you will have them blooming for the next decade or more...they will have "babies", too. But, no, you can't slow their growth down, They have their own internal clock and this is their time to shine. Only sprouting now they will bloom later and flower for a couple of weeks.

Plant em they need moisture you can do the basement trick moisten the material it came in and let it dry out again then in a couple days moisten the material again let it dry so they don't rot, don't freeze em it'll kill em best to plant em and remember where you put em
