The garage door will still be opening and closing, it will be a garage again someday. Any alternatives to actually professionally carpeting it, something that will make it homey? soft on the feet? besides those rubber mats?

theres an easy to install product that is carpet tiles. Theyre large squares about 18 inches long and they fit together like a jigsaw puzzle with self sticking backings. Theyre not as THICK as "real" carpet, but they do the job are are more affordable and much easier to work with for the novice.

Many times you will find 'seconds' of carpet squares at home improvement stores. Picking up a couple of boxes for pennies on the dollar. You might also go to a carpet place and ask for any discontinued squares or rolls for a huge discount. Then get creative mixing and matching them on the garage floor.

Go to some carpet stores that have reminets of carpets. messure your garage and decide how much carpet that you would need mimuim or max.

They have the carpet pieces maked for size and price. you can get large or small carpets and then glue down just the edges.

You might have to visit more than one carpet store. My dorm room carpet last year cost $38.00 and was a12x22 room the carpet was 8 x16.

When there are conventions or galas or other events in town for a weekend they usually use carpet for the weekend and then just throw it away because it is cheaper than lugging it to the next place. I know a couple of people that have gotten cheap or free carpet just for asking. And the people that gave it to them were grateful that they didn't have to tear it down or worry about throwing it away.

A couple of ideas with that.....I would suggest cheap outdoor carpeting......or even carpet ends that are usually discounted in stores. Also, I believe that Sears, or a store like that, has carpet squares that kind of fit together into a puzzle-like floor. They are not expensive and look fabulous!

One thing you might want to do before carpeting is painting the concrete floor with appropriate paint. This will cut down on dust and dampness.

If he needs to make it a guy's room, then enable him positioned regardless of he needs in it to make it his own. in my opinion, i think of each room in the homestead could be partly a guy's room....i do no longer agree that a woman could have unfastened reign to tutor their homestead right into a dollhouse so he feels the overpowering could have a seperate room faraway from all of it. a house could mirror the tastes of the couple.

Astroturf is very cheap and easy to work with. It doesn't need stretching and tacking either- just tape it down with carpet tape.
