Why do our muscles ache when we are ill? Is it caused by the same lactic acid that causes our muscles to ache after we have done exercise?

If your doctor finally asked you after four years
"What do you think about going ahead and filing for disability?"

What would you do? I've been off since Oct 17 th with a broken wrist. I worked the week of Oct 10th, but had missed the two prior weeks due to severe bronchitis.

I've had trips to the doc almost every month ths year. And I'm on my fourth year of constant tracking back and forth to the doctors.

Would you go ahead and retire now...while you have already missed so much time? I hear you have to be out like two months before you can start paperwork.

This is my family doc who made the suggestion. I didn't ask or hint at this. HE came up with it ALL BY HIMSELF!!!
My rhumetologist told me this spring that since I was only 42, I'd probably too young to get disability on the basis of FM. He did say he'd help me on the basis of bulging disks in my back.

Would you take the family doctor's suggestion as a turning point? And will this help me get a check?

A week ago I had a cold, and while that seems to have cleared up, the area right above my left eye hurts so much now. It feels like sinus pain in the area and the pain pulsates and radiates through that entire side of my head.

Right now it feels especially horrible and I'd like to get rid of the pain. Any good remedies to help with the pressure/pain feeling? Would tea help, or maybe something like Tylenol/Ibuprofen?

As the day begins and I wake up my middle to upper back is fine.. As the day progresses through work and school it starts killin me..

It's not near my neck but in the mid section.. When I twist and turn my body it cracks continuously and wont stop unless I stop.

I crank my neck and I hear cracks all over the place..

All this cracking doesnt really help the pain but takes a little stress off..

No matter how I sit at the end of the day my middle back is just in intense pain and I dont know what I can do!

Are there any stretches or anything I can do to relieve it? Please help!

My doctor had me on 10mg Methadone 2x daily and 5mg oxycodone ir 3x daily for B/T pain. I was on the Methadone for 1 week and he switched me to 20mg oxycontin 4x daily with the 5mg's for BT. Do I need to wait for the Methadone to be out of my system or is it ok to start on the oxycontin during the methadone is still in my system? I last had a methadone at 8am this morning and only 5mg's (broke it in half). The stuff didn't help my pain at all! then when I read the withdrawals from methadone lasts WAY longer then the oxy, it was a no brainer!

My husband has been experiencing really bad "on and off" pain on the lower right side of his back for like 2-3 weeks already. It hurts him when he presses on that area. It also hurts him sometimes when he coughs or sneezes. He says it's not a strained muscle. He thinks it might be one of his lower back ribs or kidney but he is not to sure. Should he see a doctor? Does anyone have a clue what it might be? Has anyone gone through something like this?

I just started to take 75 mgs in the morning and 75 mgs at night. I did read all the info on this medication but would really appreciate firsthand experiences. Did you gain weight, lose weight, have more energy, less energy, did your appetite change, did it affect your sleep? I could go on and on so PLEASE, say whatever you may have noticed from taking this medication.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

I have a disease that affects my spine, I also have Fibromyalgia. My doctor has me on Lortab 7.5 for pain. Well, it's just not helping anymore. He said for me to come by tomorrow and get a Rx for duragesic patches. What exactly are these? Do they work quickly? Will they make me feel high or drunk? (I have to function at work) Also, if it is not helping for pain, do you take any other meds with it? Thanks.
