2 and1/2 weeks ago i lifted much more weight than i am used to for work. I believe i hurt the muscle in my right arm pretty badly. it still hurts now as if i did it yesterday. it hurts from the shoulder joint down to my elbow and up to my neck. sometimes it is hot pain other times dull, but always pain. I was taking 600mg motrin every 8 hours, but i get a headache everytime i do. So i was taking excedrin for my headache. I dont want to take both, so i have to choose what hurts worse. this headache and shoulder pain have been constant for 2 and 1/2 weeks! is there anything that will help both? ... I know i should see a dr, but i cant afford it, and work wont pay because i didnt report it when it happened.

I have problems with my knees popping out of place or locking up the doctors says it cartilage and i need to go through water thearpy. I go to the dentist and he puts my jaw back into place because its dislocated all the time. He says its because of my cartilage. And then the day before Thanksgiving I was having real bad chest pains I thought I was having a heart attack. The doctor said it was due to the cartilage that attaches the ribs to the breast bone separating. Now I can't do anything for two weeks until I heal. Why can't the doctors put all this together and give me a reason or even a cure to fix the problem. I have lost jobs and sometimes can't even get up to take care of my family because of this. Is there a special doctor that I can see for this problem? I just want to be able to do things with my kids instead of them taking care of me. Im 35 years old and my kids are ages 11, 10, and 7. They need me and I can't be there for them.

I want to know how many 'types' of 'pain' there are . As I see it -

1) First there is the normal pain, where one doesn't want to touch the injured area.
2) Second type of pain is felt when a stiff area is massaged , like some acupressure points. A very good example of this is the fleshy area between your thumb and index finger.
3)Another is the pleasent'ish pain one gets on doing exercise or streching.

I have an annoying pain in the muscles behind my knees and in front of my elbows(basically behind the joints )that are only felt when I am relaxed. and when I have this pain I just want to keep punching the area. Punching does help a little (temporarily).

Can somone explain what sort of pain is this and what other types of pain there are ??
Thanks
Thanks

They call acupuncturists quacks, and they dismiss the evidence that alternative healthcare has healed the symptoms of hundreds of thousands of Americans? (And uh, no -not just of the Asian persuasion.) For you Traditional doctors, has this mindset presented emotional or spiritual challenges to you in your practice?

Why is there little exposure of traditional medicine in mainstream publications?
I can't think of a single colleague, neighbor, acquaintance or friend that I've met who has never considered or known someone who's sought acupuncture or taken herbs.

In September of this year my knees and ankles started to swell up and were very painful. After living with the pain for a week I was checked into a hospital, diagnosed with shingles, and left after 4 days. I went to a follow up afterwards and got no answers for why the pain is still here. I have been to many different doctors, no one has a clue. I still have swelling in the joints (gets worse as day progresses), fever at night every once in a while, and red dots (broken capillaries). Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm really desperate to find something. Some more extraneous info that might be helpful:
-Arthritis & lupus have been ruled out.
-I'm 19 years old/female/asian
-i did get "better" for a week or so then symptoms came back.

I've had arthiritis in most joints since I was 10, I'm now 30. I've been suffering with other symtoms lately, including severe tiredness, muscle pain, insomnia and very severe bruising, pain and swelling on my knees, wrists, elbows and ankles. I've had tests with my Reumatology consultant and he said I also have Fibromyalgia. I don't know a great deal about this, does anyone else have this; I'd love a bit of advice on how to find relief. Many thanks.

was hoping to get an opinion. herniated a disc 2 yrs ago. got sciatica as a result that progressively got worse to the pt where i needed surgery. have been pain free for a yr, but 2 wks ago, pulled my back again golfing. the back pain is gone, but i feel the all too familiar pinching sensation in the upper-left buttocks. no pain going down my leg yet, but this is how it started last time so would like to seek treatment as soon as possible. i tried medication, physical therapy, accupuncture & epideral injections last time to no avail so had to get surgery as a last resort. this time, i'm wondering if i should try chiropractic treatment as it was the only treatment i didn't try last time. however, i've heard mix things about it both personally & online, so if anyone can share their experience or expertise as it relates to herniated discs & sciatica, i'd appreciate it.

My neck hurts a lot. I can't keep heating pads on my neck, like they should be. I know that there are some neck massagers that have a heat setting on them. Have you used one that worked really well? I'd love to know which is the best one. All honest opinions welcome. Thanx!
