I keep having really bad pain in the upper left of my abdomen. If I stand up, the pain is alleviated a bit, but I still feel very nauseous and very sick to my stomach. I also keep getting head aches. The pain is in my upper left abdomen ( I think its my stomach) and goes up into my chest, and causes me to feel like i'm literally having a heart attack. My mom said that it's probably gallstones, but I don't have any pain the RIGHT side, which would be condusive to gall problems. My main issue is, am I ok waiting until the morning to see a Dr? It's 3.25 right now, and I don't have anyone to drive me to the hospital, so I'd have to find someone to watch my daughter, then drive myself like 45 mins to the hospital then wait for god knows how long, and by then my dr. will prb be open. Suggestions?

Hi, I was born with sickle cell trait and used to have severe flare ups of pain when i was younger (blood clotting/arthritic sort of pains), and my father would use a heating pad, ben-gay, or i'd take pain reliever medicine. Now that I'm older it hasn't affected me much anymore, in fact, it seemed to be gone for years. Just recently, as in the past few months, my right hand has been experiencing pain, sensitive to really cold or really hot temperatures. Everytime I take a hot shower, two of my fingers will stiffen up and will hurt extremely to move, and the only way to reverse it is if i use my other hand and let really cold water run over it for a little bit. Same thing happens if really cold water or air settles into that hand. Help! Is there anyone who has experienced this(because now it happens EVERYDAY)? Will taking Glucosamine help? Thanks for any responses!

About three inches above the end of my right collar bone, I've been feeling a throbbing pain in my neck. Its only been on-again, off-again pain for the past few hours. Its not particularity excruciating, just hurts a little and its more annoying than anything. I've been very, very stressed all week long with barely any sleep because of the schoolwork I had to do this week. Is it stress related, maybe?

So, it happens almost everytime and whenever i bent my knees it gives a 'click' sound. Same goes when i do squats. It doesn't hurt but i'm scared that it will affect me when i grow older as i'm only 16 this year.

I'm not sure if weight plays a part but maybe it does. I'm 160cm and my weight is roughly 70kg. I'm quite an avid runner but recently lessen my trainings and eventually stop cos i'm worrying about the clicking sound my knee makes. I'm also very scared to go to the docs as i fear surgery would be involved.

I recently had a titanium plate placed near the front of my face next to my eye. It's near that area were you kinda massage if you have a little headache, between eyes and ears. My question is, would having this plate screwed into my skull so close to the eye cause headaches and over time cause the headaches to get worse?
also i have heard that the breathing in through the nose is used the cool the brain area down, that combined with the cold weather seems to make the sectioned area increase in pain.
sorry for such a long question....
What would be options for getting treatment for the pains? I am a victim and the police have not helped nor have the doctors..

My hip joint has a sharp pain when I stand/walk a certain way. It's a sharp pain, like you would feel on a twisted knee or something. It just started a couple of hours ago and I'm not sure what's causing it.

I'm 23, I lift weights 5x a week (being 2 days on legs). I do have a desk job and usually find myself sitting with my legs crossed at the ankles. (I try not to, but the way my desk is set up it just happens on its own)

I know it's not related to weight lifting as it only started a couple of hours ago and yesterday I worked on upper body. I haven't gone to the gym today, and I don't think I will. If i do, it'll be on midsection only.

I attached a picture link to show where it is. I'm now noticing that when I stand, my right leg is noticably longer than my left. (this is after the pain). I'm thinking it's twisted muscle and my ligaments(?) has inflamed.... any suggestions?

I have fibromylagia along with chronic low back/leg pain. I just finished round three of epidural injections to no avail, in fact if anything I feel worse. He just took me off morphine and put me on methadone and percocet. I dont want to be on all these drugs but the pain is excruciating. Today my dr. told me about this neurostimulator spinal cord implant http://www.spine-health.com/topics/surg/spinestim/spinestim01.html

I've done a little research on it but wondered if anybody has had any experience with it? What does it feel like? Is it worth it? Does it work?

If I was a horse they woulda shot me already.

I have nerve problems from inguinal hernia surgery. Usually, when I try to exercise, pain shoots up from my testicle (surgical side) to the area of incision and down the top of my thigh.

I have gone through drugs; visits to my surgeon, a urologist, a second surgeon, and a pain center (in Washington DC); and nerve blockers.

We are now starting to talk of pulsed RF ablation because I once got about two weeks relief from one genitofemoral nerve blocker. (I'm going to try it again to see if I get relief again.) My doctor seems hesitant about RF ablation; I am unsure if it's because he does't think it's great or because he has little experience with it.

What can you tell me about the procedure and results for my type of nerve pain?

Is micro-nerve surgery possible for this sort of problem?

Will I eventually need to have a surgeon go in again, rip out the mesh and all the scar tissue it has bonded with, and cut all three of my nerves?

All info is appreciated. Thanks.

I have a DR's appointment on Tuesday regarding Degenerative Disc Disease that I have in my lower back. I have had several treatments for this including; cortizone injections, physical therapy, massage therapy just to name a few. I am currently on Percocet 7.5mgs. I want to stop taking these so bad. The pain is the worst pain of life and is completely ruining my life! I am 28 years old and can not function like a normal human being. What can I expect from this appointment? Will they offer some kind of surgery even though none of my nerves are being impacted? Will the orthopedic doctor just dimiss me? I am so nervous that I am going to have to live with this pain for the rest of my life. Anyone one else have this? What treatments did you receive?

For the past week or so, I have had this uncomfortable pain under my left lung (left being if you were looking down from my point of view) and it is just now starting to be actually painful. I am a 19 year old male. I'm not very active and I don't think I pulled anything because it wouldn't go from uncomfortable to painful if it was just a muscle being pulled. Along with this pain came a headache but I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it. The headache might be a coincidence but my left side sure does hurt. Its not the lung its self I'm quite sure because my breathing is fine and it seems to be below it and/or behind it.
If anyone could give me an idea of what this might be, that would be great.

I have been getting a lot of stress headaches lately, and have been taking various headache medicines for the pain. I know that Tylenol is not safe to take for long periods of time due to potential liver (or is it kidney?) failure. Excedrin has acetominophen in it, which is the main ingredient in Tylenol. Is Advil safe to take regularly (say, for a couple of weeks)? Is Excedrin okay because it has less acetominophen than Extra-Strength Tylenol? Does anyone have any other suggestions of other things I can take to relieve the pain?

I've been diagnosed with a pinched nerve a few years back. I have seen a doctor (who only prescribes pain killers and muscle relaxers), gone to see chiropractors, as well as physical therapy. Nothing seems to help my problem.

My right hip pops constantly. Every time I bend my knee more than a few inches. I have hip and back pain every morning and not so much in the afternoon and night. I'm only 23. What could be the problem and do you know of any remedies, etc?

I was playing basketball about 3 or 4 years ago and I fell on my knee. I paused on the floor but I didn't want to come out of the game so I just got up and ran it off. I didn't ice it and the next morning when I woke up it was stiff and hurt alot. I walked that off too but now every now and then, it will hurt all day, sometimes to where I have to sit down and rest for a little while. It also pops from time to time but both of my knees do that and ave been doing it for a while. I'm a heavy set girl so I doin't know if that has anything to do with it...any suggestions on treatment or what it could be?

Ok, last night my right side hurt, not badly, but it did hurt and it never has before. And I felt sick to my stomach. My temp was 89.9, just a hair above normal.

Well this morning I feel fine. Does that mean it is NOT appendicitis, or should I still go to the doctor?
