Their is no quick fix for back pain! First you need to find a reason, disc problem, arthritis, and then you need to start some form of appropriate exercise. That will depend on the reason. I am on Fentanyl patches, 80 times stronger than morphine and I still have break through pain, so I have to learn to live with it, befriend it and rest up or exercise depending on the level of pain. Good Luck

Meds won't correct a back problem, only subdue the symptoms. Seems rather odd to me, how many people have this problem and don't have it corrected. As one answer stated, even surgery and shots didn't help.

My suggestion is; When all else fails, see a good chiropractor. They are specialized in the care of this type of problem. Knowing in advance that the recovery will mostly depend on you doing adequate stretching at home, to help the treatment maintain for any length of time. The more you do the more success you will receive.

The only thing you can do for lower back pain without going to the doctor, is take aleve and use topical rubs like aspercreme or capzasin, you can buy those at any Walmart or Walgreens.

If it keeps bothering you, then its time to see a doctor to find the cause, different meds for different kinds of pain.

Stay away from opiates. Get a non-narcotic pain-reliever like robaxin or something. Opiates work for only so long and it is better to endure the pain than be bound to opiates. If opiates are used, used sparingly and when ONLY needed.

I have back problems & have had one back surgery. It didn't help. I've had the spinal injections too that didn't help. You just have to learn how to deal with it cause it will never go away. I have to take prescribed pain killers for mine. Back surgery is not what its cracked up to be. Watch how you carry & move yourself. That's about all you can do.
