This type of pain is nearly always due to tightness in the neck muscles - or in the big muscle called Trapezius that covers the neck and shoulder area.
It can be due to stress, to your posture, to overactivity, to viral infection or to any combination or combinations of these issues.
Seek help from an osteopath or a physical therapist and you should find good relief

Likely nerve stimulation. Carpal tunnel is inflammation of the nerves in the arm and wrist. These nerves also travel up to the shoulder and neck and can cause burning pain and pins and needles sensation. Nerve stimulation in the neck from nerve inflammation or secondary to arthritis can also cause that. There is also rotator cuff shoulder muscle damage but it will cause restriction of motion as well as pain. Tennis elbow is inflammation of tendons in the arm which can also inflame nearby nerves.
See your doctor for diagnosis. Carpel tunnel and tennis elbow can be treated with splints, braces and/or physiotherapy.

tension. Try a muscle massage, deep massaging works wonders. Stress will tighten the muscles. Also, if you do computer work, it will also do muscle tightening. Bio-Freeze helps with the muscle soothing. I like to do the tenns- unit, it massages and helps relax me.
