Pain & Pain Management - May 2007

Especially on the right knee. I'm 25 years old and this has just recently started happening to me. Sometimes it feels like my right knee locks up (and my left occasionally too) and there's a pain that shoots through my knee, I can't even stand for about 2-3 minutes, then it goes away. But they ache constantly. What is it?

I had a spinal fusion at level L5-S-1 4 weeks ago . My legs ache all the time. It is worse at the end of the day and at bedtime. Just wondering if this is common.

I'm in bad pain right now from a flu and overworking the other day (i'm 6'1? 215 lbs) The last time i've taken tylenol was probably about 2 1/2 years ago, and as you can tell I almost never do use it but... did i take too many?

As you most likely know, that drug, knocks a person OUT! BUt I need to stay awake without the immence pain. If I drink coffee, will it increase/decrease what the drug is supposed to do?

I have been getting really bad occipital (back of the head) headaches for the last few months that re getting worse.Ive tried all the main things. Its not from neck tension, the docs dont know what it is. They come and go-any ideas ppl may have that i havent thought of that will rid them?thanks

I wrestle and box and so I believe I may have injured my upper back/lower neck last night in wrestling. I have this pain in what seems to be my thoracic area (between shoulder blades) only on the left side of my spine, almost as if it's against it, but this isn't muscle pain. It feels deeper. It is in constant pain, but especially hurts when I lean my head forward all the way or when i turn my head toward my left. It hurts when I turn my head right, but not nearly as much.

Could this be of cervical origin because it hurts when twisting my head the most? Is this a pinched nerve? Is this a common injury with wrestling? I've never seen anyone have this. What are some thoughts on what it could be? What should I do? I'm thinking about acupuncture and visiting a chiropractor just because I know one of each, but would really appreciate possibilities of what this is, that I have everything on the table and can work every angle.

I went away in dec last year to india and was put on doxycycline malaria tablets which caused ulcertive osphegitis, after i recovered from that i found out i might have early kidney failure at 21 years old since that time my kidneys have regained 20% function but i am now getting sharp pains in my chest, abdomen, and down my left arm and sharp pains in my head, when i spoke to the doctor about it he asked if i could be pregnant, i still havent had the pregnancy test, so i was just wondering has anyone got any ideas what could be wrong and has anyone else been thru similar health problems. this has all happened since dec last year.

i get migraines constantly i went to th e doctor he said al l that really can be done is to take some headach pills to suit the pain question how can i prevent getting migraines and how do i know when i will be getting one they say it is stress related but sometimes i dont feel any stress but then i get a migraine

I am 35, morbidly obese due to medications and lack of movement, I suffer from chronic pain syndrome for which I require opioid medication, I am diabetic, I have intermittent chest pain, and am now going through a VERY early change of life, I exercise as much as possible, usually ending in severe pain, PLEASE can some one help me fix my pain & my weight which is makeing all these problems worse, any advice will be greatfully received, thanks

i was diagnosed with fibro myalgia and it hurts some days more than others. i work full time as a closing convience store clerk and do a lot of lifting and mopping. it doesn't hurt that much when i do these things but on my days off it sometimes hurts a lot and i feel extremely tired. is this normal?

I fell down the stairs 12 days ago and ever sience it has been swollen,round,bruised and its hard to move up,down and around in a circle.
I am also 14 and in middle school so I can't elevate it
A few day ago when I was elevating it, it hurt so badly
I also havnt been to the doctor yet but I probably should go
the initial injury wasnt that bad but then I had gym and it got like 10x worse each day I have had gym for 2 days sience the injury happened.
I will also probably get a note though so that it doesnt get hurt worse
I have crutches should I be using them
Also when I stand on my ankle it starts to hurt after like 5 minutes so I have to stand on 1 foot which is causing my other ankle to ache
Please help I'm starting to get concerned because of the symptoms and time period
also what do you think could be wrong and what should I be wearing on it
like a stirr-up brace, ankle brace or what
alos could I have a fracture, stress fracture, broken ankle, sprain or what
Help!!!!!!!
