I don't exactly know what you mean here. Do you mean that do they, doctors replace discs with prosthesis like discs yet? the answers as far as I know are, maybe.
I had five of my cervical spinal discs replaced but, not that way because it wasn't the best. I had the best doctors in Michigan at the time. There are doctors that do this and I've actually seen the replacement. It looks like an old tire in a wire basket.
My doctors clinic the "Fields neuro- science and neurological center" in Saginaw Michigan is supposed to be one of the best, the Mayo clinic is rated as third under them.
I've had surgery twelve times there. They do have a cervical spinal disc and I've seen it, made out of titanium and it moves in a 360 degree angle but has not been approved as yet, suppose to be about three years away.
