This is a condition which, the ability of your arm to move in a circle is either impossible or very painful. Lack of strength in the arm, lack of circulation, too much stress and muscle tension are all contributors. Get regular massage treatments. Have them concentrate on that arm and shoulder and neck. I had therapy several years ago because my thumb was going numb. Not good for a dental hygienist. I had monthly massages and she sent me to a chiropractor. I don't normally like them, but he massaged very deeply on my arms to remove "adhesions" on the muscles. This was to help the blood flow to my fingers. I was bruised for weeks and it hurt pretty bad, but was tolerable. The problem came from my neck muscles. The area just over my shoulder and down my arm was very tender during the rubbing. The chiropractor and the massage therapist both worked on me several times during a 6 week period. It really helped me and I believe saved me from carpal tunnel surgery. I now sleep with a special pillow and my neck is much less easy to get a kink in it. The pillow is one of the memory foam type. Slowly try stretching exercises such as in a beginners yoga class or CD.
