My dad has had a history of Liver problems, he went into the hospital due to neck pain and was givin a priscription of 500mg of vickodin. The doctors took blood and should have found that he had liver problems. They sent him on his way 3-4 days later he died.
My understanding, people that has severe liver problems shouldn't be givin anything that has high doses of tylonol in it cause it will induce liver failure. My question to the people out there is is this a part of medical malpractice??
Did they misdiagnose him and give him a pain killer that eventually led to his death?

A friend of mine took a pretty good spill on his mountain bike and said afterwareds his throat hurt like he was sick. A CAT scan showed he fractured his orbital which is healing but he still complains of his throat. Its been a few weeks and he can spot small traces of blood every so often when he coughs. He also mentioned his adams apple "clicks" when he moves it to the side with his fingers.

My back has been hurting for over 5 months. It is in the middle to lower spine area. It feels like if I could crack my back, the pressure would be relieved, but it isn't the problem. It feels compressed, and standing is the only relief I get other than laying flat on my back.
Muscle relaxers don't work.

Arching my back backward provides little relief, but I can't stay that way forever.

The pain can be better or worse, and at its worst, I find myself holding my breath. (such as while pulling weeds or bending over for long periods)

Last night the left side of my stomach hurt when I was sitting up, and went all the way through to my back, and when I was laying down I felt nauseous, but the pain would go away in my stomach after a while. If it is an ulcer, what can I do to make it go away on my own, or do I need to go see a doctor-I don't really want to though, because I feel like I waste their time. If you have any ideas please help me! I'm afraid of vomitting, and I don't want it to get to that point.

I was in a car accident last week, where we had a driver come across us at 90 degrees to our car and when we collided, my right knee hit the dash. It didn't hurt at first, and later that night the swelling and bruising showed up and I was in considerable pain.

After a week, the bruising and swelling has gone down, but now I have a slight discoloration underneath the bruised area, and I have a bit of bruising just above the base of my foot, again below where the bruised area is.

Is this normal?

I fell yesterday and my feet are pretty bruised. They were swollen yesterday, but not at all today. However, walking is kind of painful... I'd hate to go to the doctor just to have them say that there's nothing they can do for me.

Are there specific things I should watch for? Or a certain amount of time I should stop being in pain?

Thanks.

On 12/26 I was in a minor accident but was fine for 2 1/2 wks. Then I got a bad constant HA. Now I'm at 7 wks of constant migraine & neck/occipital nerve pain. I've tried countless meds all of which have failed to work. I've been seeing a chiropractor who said I have severe whiplash but has not been able to fix the headache. I have been seeing a neurologist & he said my neck muscles have stretched/strained as a result of the accident, which irritated and inflamed my Occipital Nerve. He gave me a Nerve Block, which failed to work. Now we are going to try physical therapy 2 x's/wk for four weeks.

Has anyone had anything similar to this before as a result of a car accident?

As far as the accident itself, it was of no fault of mine. I was the passenger of the vehicle, my husband was the driver. No one was injured, and I did not seek medical treatment. It was not until weeks later was I found to be injured. At this time I am no seeking a lawyer.

Any other Other advice is welcome.

3 years ago I had a spinal cord injury which left me without the use of my right foot....after a lot of exercise & perseverance it's slowly beginning to get better & I've regained partial use of the foot even though doctors said the injury was permanent....since the accident the muscle running down the back of my upper leg [hamstring] often goes into cramp.....when I attempt to do like butt exercises for example by laying on my back & with knees bent....lift up the lower part of my body my hamstring totally cramps up....it also happens at times while I'm sat at my computer but when I straighten my leg it goes away.....any suggestions please as I really want to get on with more exercises but this damned thing is holding me back slightly.......do you think it needs more stretching? it doesn't happen in my other leg, just the one that was injured......Thanks guys for your help......

My nephew who is 7 years old had a motorbike accident. His foot was severely damaged, sole tissues were scraped, the achilles tendon was cut short and calcaneus bone was severely damaged that the first doctor mistakenly removed it. Now he has difficulty walking, he felt intense pain whenever he use his right foot, he walks on tiptoe so he is depending on crutches. Wounds are healed too. What can be the best treatment for this child? If ever, will he be able to walk, run normally as he used to do? Please advice.
