My nephew who is 7 years old had a motorbike accident. His foot was severely damaged, sole tissues were scraped, the achilles tendon was cut short and calcaneus bone was severely damaged that the first doctor mistakenly removed it. Now he has difficulty walking, he felt intense pain whenever he use his right foot, he walks on tiptoe so he is depending on crutches. Wounds are healed too. What can be the best treatment for this child? If ever, will he be able to walk, run normally as he used to do? Please advice.

No one here can answer your questions! That's for the medical community! Try finding a reputable orthopedic surgeon and have him re-evaluated. As for the first quack, a good lawyer and a medical malpractice lawsuit might be in order!

The heel has really been messed up from the way you describe it. Fortunately, children have a way of adapting to the worst of situations. However, your nephew needs the help of a good orthopedic surgeon. Some reconstruction may be necessary for him to be able to walk not on tiptoes.
