Did you sustain an injury there? If not, get to the Doctor right away. You may have a blood disorder to leukemia. If you did hit your leg, don't worry about it yet. A bad bruise can take two weeks to go away completely. Start to notice if the bruise changes from black/purple to a yellowish color. That's normal.
If it remain dark and doesn't start to fade or change color in another week, make an appt. with your Doctor.

It was probably just a really hard impact and the bruise is more serious than normal. Go to the pharmacy and ask for some bruise cream. You can rub it on to help the healing process speed up.

Those areas that bruise tend to take longer to heal, sometimes months.
If you apply a warm compress it may help in moving the clotted blood,(bruise)to help it heal quicker. Other than that it happens

It could be nothing at all, and you will probably laugh at me when you read this answer, but i've seen on discovery health, this one girl had a bruise on her arm, that never heald, and it ended up being cancer, so go and see a doctor, if it doesn't clear up soon. good luck
