Injuries - November 2006

I wont recieve insurance for another 6 months. I hurt my ankle badly and I need to see a doctor, I think. I cant go to my doctor because I have to pay up front and I cant aford the E.R. I read something about free clinics but will it help me? I have to go to work somehow tomorrow and I dont know what to do cause I can hardly walk and it is my second day and I dont want to get fired. I heard that free clinics are dirty and the wait is long. The free clinic here is in the ghetto and they help homeless people. I dont know what to do.

i think that i have broken my finger but i can still bend it . would i be able to still do that if i was broken ? it is really swollen . the middle nuckle is th worse. or do you think it is torn tendons?

i recently had a cooking accident, and got 2nd degree burns on my hands and a bit on my face as a result. the paramedics came, but didn't think my injuries were serious enough to require doctor's attention. still, the paramedics didn't give me solid enough reccommendations on how to treat the injuries. the biggest problem is the blister i have on my right hand that is about twice the size of a quarter. i heard that yer not supposed to pop the blister, and i have iced the blister which have helped reduced the size significantly, but i still need to go to work, and i can't if i still have the blisters. what can i do to treat the blister? any reccommendation is appreciated. thank you!

my Mom fell down on her back...I took her to E.R...X-ray showed a fracture in tail bone about 5 mm.
they do not recommend surgery...just pain killer.
doctor said " she might have to take pain medicine always."

I want to know ,..does this kind of fracture heal without surgery?

she is very brave and is still walking.
it is not hair line it is seperated.

I tore my ACL 2 weeks ago and will be having surgery in the middle of december. And after that is all said and done with i have six weeks of PT. If anyone can give me tips to help with the healing process it would be much appreciated. I'm hoping to make it back in April for track

I know that when your head gets cut all the way off you immediately die (or do you?), but when it hits your neck before it goes all the way through, would it hurt? Would you realize it before you died? Could you feel it?

basically I slipped while grated cheese and took a chunk out of my index knuckle. the flesh was still attatched by skin so i put it back in. two days later it is scabbing, but the bit of flesh I put back in looks like a tiny grey bruise. Is this normal, or do you reccommend getting checked out by a doctor? Many thanks for your help.

I walked quite a bit on holiday a week ago and since then have had terrible pain in my knees. I have not injured or hurt myself and would like to know what is causing the pain and how to fix it. The pain is worse when walking up/downstair. I have had no swelling or redness at any stage. I have been to the Doctor twice and they are unable to tell me what is wrong. Any ideas?

I took my male chihuahua to the veterinarian on saturday, because he wasn't feeling well. They took him in the back for bloodwork, injections, and subcutaneous fluid therapy. When he was done and I went to pick him up, I noticed a very large bruise on his chest, under his left arm. He did not get hurt at home, or the bruise would have been there when I brought him in, and the vet would have seen it and treated it. I have a really bad feeling that something happened to my little guy, when they took him back there , and I have a feeling that he was dropped or banged in some way to cause this, and that upsets me very much. I have another appointment in 2 weeks to take him back for a recheck, and I feel very uncomfortable taking him back to that particular vets office. Can you please tell me what you think might have happened? Should I take him back to that vet, or to another vet? Any serious advice would be appreciated!!! Serious Answers Only Please!!!

As I stated I sustained a severe head injury night before last. I also stated that I don't have health insurance and yes, I found out today an ER does have to take me. But I have a problem that I was too embarrased to say yesterday. I have a husband that abuses me and when I left he took the car and cell phone, everything. I'm at my parents cabin and it's pretty remote. He doesn't know where it is that's why I ran to here. My friend brought me here and she's supposed to be coming back on Thurs to pick me up. He's going to deer camp and I'll be able to get my things and an order of protection. I have another question about my injury. What does it mean when the bruise seems to be spreading. What started as a huge knot on at hairline has spread down almost to my eye. It's still very swollen and VERY tender to the touch. They told me that I would have 2/3 small holes in knee, but have got 4 inch scar underneath kneecap! Nobody has answered my question and have 2 wait 2 weeks 2 get stitches out and longer 2 see consultant. Any ideas?

I was involved in a car accident 3 months ago and go to physio and "chiropractor" I say this, because the treatment I get are the modalities on my back. They're always on my back to make me go 3X a week, I don't personally think I need to go that often, but they always say the isnurance will wonder about my claim if I don't make my appointments as they had already submitted a 3X treatment plan.

Am I being ripped off. Does anyone know how my car insurance could re-act should I decide to change chiropractors?

I hit my nose on my bed and it bled, it seemed quite swollen on the bridge, it was apparently getting better (according to every1) and then i bumped it again and it swelled up, HELP!!!
