Many people think it is caused by reduced blood supply to the diaphragm during exercise, but this theory is no longer accepted.
An experiment was carried out a while back that supported the theory that during exercise or laughing the 'gut' and a couple of other organs pulled on the ligaments that connects them to the diaphragm which in time causes the pain. The results showed the pain mainly showed up after the participants exercised soon after eating.

Well when we laugh- we tense our stomach muscles or bend over , so the blood cant run freely to its source or organs so we get sharp tingly stingy feelings as it rushes back through!

Because you're not taking in enough oxygen so the muscles start to contract.

It's usually just a muscle spasm - presuming it goes away when you stop what you're doing, it's nothing to worry about.
