Good luck to you.

At age five would more likely be considered normal due to a couple of factors: at age 2 your bones are still flexible so It would take some force to break, that is why parents who bring in their toddler with a broken bone are highly question. But it still can happened. At age 10 it is possible and normal for a broken bone do to extra articular activities using more physical aspects of the body, but not the first. I would say at age 5 because that is when they are school age, more daring, don't realize the their are hazards out their, therefore the child is more prone to have the first bone broken at this age. Hey I shattered my elbow at age 7.

Well, it depends on how outgoing or how much common sense they have. A child who sits inside all day and watches television is most likely not going to break a bone. However, someone who plays baseball or football every day is more active overall, and they may break a bone when they are at practice, or playing at home. Also, children who are more "daredevelish" will do silly or stupid things for fun, or to please others, so they have a higher chance.
2 year olds do not usually break bones, because they don't have very much cordination to be doing something that would cause it. I would guess anywhere from 6-11 years would be about right. At these ages, children don't have a huge ammount of common sense, and they are very active.
It seems that you treat this like something normal that happens to everyone, but it really isn't. It's a good thing that you haven't broken one.

I didn't break a bone until I was in my early 40s, at which time I managed to "stump" my toe against the leg of a sofa - NOT recommended. My son has never broken a bone (unless he's done so since moving into his own place last year and hasn't mentioned it to mom...); my neice and nephew have each broken an arm during rough play or athletic activity - they were in their teens. I guess it just depends on the person.

I'm 18 and still unbroken, but most of the people I know have broken something. I think it is abnormal never to break so much as a toe, but it only means that you are either tougher smarter, or luckier than average. High calcium diet? Or are you just smart enough to avoid accidents that would break bones? I think my case is mostly because I drink a lot of milk and have used calcium supplements for most of my life to control my chronic heartburn.

I broke my first bone at 8 or 9 playin on the playground in school, my cusin broke his wrist at 7, 9 and around 11 or 12. I tore my rotator cuff at 18 and broke 2 bones and dislocated 3 in my hand in a fight at 21. ( yea yea drunken stupidity there) but just depends on how active you are or you kid is.

A broken bone is never never considered normal no matter what age you are. As people age and develop osteoporosis fractures become more "common" or more "likely" but never normal.

It's not like puberty or getting your wisdom teeth. Some people break bones all the time, others never break a bone their entire life.
