i tore all my ligaments tendons and muscles. my foot swells up and my foot goes under me when i walk im awaiting my appointment to see hospital doctor. any suggestions to help

Hi well i actually done the same thing about 7 years ago while holding my daughter.I tore the lateral main ligament straight off my ankle.I was in a cast for 6 wks,came out that didnt help.Had physio for 3 mths thats didnt help.My foot was still giving away a lot by now so i was put on the waiting list for a operation.It involved stapling the main ligament bck on to my lateral side off my ankle,a cast for 6 wks,physio after.7 years on i dodnt really have no problems at all with my ankle,i get some aching in that area thats all.The consultant may want to do some sort off operation on your foot,as once you have torn your ligaments and you ankle is giving away the only option is a operation,i went through it all and nothing helped part from surgery.Good Luck anyway.

Try not to put much weight on it. Ice on and off helps a lot with the swelling too. Try to get some type of support brace put on it. And you definately need to see a doctor about it.
Usually when you injure something it doesn't heal very quickly, and if you put a little too much pressure on it it'll injure again and again.
