I know I'm supposed to sit straight at my desk at work, but given an hour or so I'll slowly slide into a slouch without even noticing.

My feet are flat on the ground, and I have a modern chair with lumbar support, but still I find myself sitting on the edge of the chair, back curved into it, or sometimes hunched over my desk. How can I force myself to sit up straight?

I have a pain that feels like its on my left backside just above my hipbone. Sometimes it also feels like its right above my hip on my left front side on my abdomen. Also, as of right now, I'll feel it go up to my left shoulder.

What is this!? Can it be my appendix, even though that organ is on the right side? Is it gullbladder? Ovaries? What??

***Yesterday was my sister's birthday and I ate quite a bit of junk food, which seemed to aggrevate it a little more. I've had this pain for about a month or so.

I've had a headache for the last week now and paracetemol isn't helping. I can't get into the doctors ( about right for our country) and I was wondering if any of you have had a similar ailment? The headache is so bad I can't put my head on a pillow and sleep.

Ok well about 3 years ago I jumped off a swing and landed on my side of my ankle. It really hurt but I never went to the doctor. It really hurt for about 1 year but I nevered bothered to go to the doctor, which now I see that that was a big mistake. Sometimes it just hurts at random times and whenever I hurt it alittle it really kills. Is there anything I can do BESIDES go to the doctor? What is it? Any good websites? Plz help!?!

If I do go to the doctor what will they do?

Scar creams like scarzone, cocoa butter scar serum etc etc promise eliminating old and new scars. I've tried all these but honestly, there has been no noticeable change. Is there any cream that eliminates or fades scars or do we just depend on sugery. Someone please help me!!!

i injuried my right knee about 3 years ago and since then i have failed to engage my movements and muscle properly on my right side. My physio likened it to having a stroke, not so much as i couldn't move my right side but subcon i didn't want to for fear of reinjuring. i don't know if this is the source of the problem but i my right shoulder has become really stiff of late. Even in bed, when i lay on my back i can feel my shoulder blade sticking out making it very uncomfortable to to sleep. i also can lay on my right side due to this problem. At the moment i am doing Pilates and feel that my right side is getting better apart from my shoulder. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is wrong with my shoulder?

It seems a lot of people in the thirty or forty something age group found out from a random checks by a news channel they were bad cholesterol risk, even though they thought they were fit and healthy. In UK today only those over 50 are apparently entitled to a free check, and yet some say "bad cholesterol" poses a series risk to health and life if undetected. There also seems to be a lack of understanding among the population what bad cholesterol means, and I am far from clear on this myself? For example is changing from eating butter to eating Flora margerine good or bad for your cholesterol and is a feee check right? Advice please?

I'm prone to ankle sprains and I have recently sprained my ankle again. I went to the doctor and he told me that it is quite a mild sprain and it would heal within 2 weeks. But it has been 3 wees plus now and it is still swollen and it is slightly painful at times. It is not swollen in the morning when I wake up but it swells when I come home from school even though I did not walk much having taken a cab home everyday. And I wear an ankle guard and sometimes an ankle brace with it too. Also, the front part of my foot(ball of my foot) hurt when I walk after some time even though it is just for a short distance. Why is this so? I wear good and comfortable sports shoe and also I did not have such a problem when I sprained my ankle in the past.

I have a very small red circle on my hip, slightly bigger than an pencil eraser head. It has been there a few days and I didn't really think anything of it until my husband saw it and told me it might be ringworm. It doesn't itch at all, and hasn't seemed to spread or change over the last few days.

I put some Tinactin (sp?) on a band aid and covered it up because it is right on my waist line where my pants will rub on it all day. Can anyone please tell me what else I should do? I didn't even know people got ringworm, I thought only dogs get it! :-/

I just have a question about Percocet and Vicodin. My husband had his wisdom teeth out and is having pain. They gave him vicodin and he is still hurting. I am prescribed Percocet for my back. He is in the military and has drug tests often.Would the two of these show up the same on a drug test? Percocet is stronger than Vicodin right??

I have had this nagging, constant, needle like pain in my right leg for a couple years now. it hurts so bad sometimes i would wake up in the middle of the night or i couldnt even fall asleep because of the pain. Now it's even distracting me when i'm in class and driving. The pain starts from my knee cap but more on the side of the knee cap and it goes down the side of the shin. It hurts sooo bad. It's like sharp needle pain. It would stop for a lilttle bit and come back again this annoying pain! i went to the doc and they couldnt find out what's wrong with me the neurologist couldnt find anything wrong with me neither...any ideas?

I had surgery back in October to remove two fragments of bone from the navicular/cunieform area, which I apparently broke and it healed. But had fragments floating about causing pain. So he removed those and that area feels okay. But where he cut into me it still is tender and I have a pin pricky feeling when you touch that area. But around that area, epsecially near the ankle when I move my foot up and down, it feels like my muscle is about to tear. And sometimes the pain radiates up to my right side of my knee. There is very slight swelling and slight tenderness. Is this normal after surgery - after 5 months? I also have toe pain which the doctor said I have capsulties but that was a month ago - and I still have pain. The doctor has taken many xrays and can't see anything wrong. Can you still have a fracture if it had healed? Or am I a big baby? Please help.

My daughter had her ears pierced five weeks ago and came to me today and told me her ear was hard. I checked and it is infected. So I took the earring out to clean it and her ear really good. When I tried to put it back in she started crying and told me to take it back out. How do I treat the infection?

I have started carrying around a heavy bag of books but the bag sits on my opposite shoulder, could this be the problem?
