Ok well about 3 years ago I jumped off a swing and landed on my side of my ankle. It really hurt but I never went to the doctor. It really hurt for about 1 year but I nevered bothered to go to the doctor, which now I see that that was a big mistake. Sometimes it just hurts at random times and whenever I hurt it alittle it really kills. Is there anything I can do BESIDES go to the doctor? What is it? Any good websites? Plz help!?!

If I do go to the doctor what will they do?

the best thing for you to do is GO TO A DOCTOR. no website on the internet can tell you what your problem really is. something might be pressing on a nerve that's why there's pain. you need to have an xray done. i dont think you can do that over the computer.

I say the best course of action for you and the most cost affective would be to go to a orthopedic physical therapist for an evaluation and some manual therapy treatment. If this is not successful then I would recommend a x-ray to see if there was a fracture of there is some abnormality to the joint. Since it is over a year old the doctor would most likely suggest physical therapy anyway and an x-ray. But if you try therapy first and it helps you have avoided the cost of the doctor and the x-ray. Good luck!

First the doctor will x-ray it to see if you did anything that can be corrected. Worse case they would have to re-break the ankle and reset it. But that is highly doubt-full, and you can always say no. Most likely you just need some type of physical therapy to make things all better. Ice it when it hurts, 20 minutes on 40 off, and it should better better with treatment from the doctor.

It's such an interesting question. I was a nurse for several years and for a lot of that time worked in a very old hospital that was more than 200 years old and on night shifts there were many stories the staff would tell of ghosts they'd seen. However I never saw anything, though when you're very tired it's easy to imagine things at the corner of your eye. I have been with patients at the moment of their death, and once was even sitting with an old lady holding her hand and looking into her eyes as she passed on. I do believe in the soul and afterlife, however I never saw nor experienced anything supernatural when they died. I have to say that I feel very disappointed about that as I'd love to have seen some kind of 'something' occur as the soul passed on, but the eyes simply lose their shine and the body relaxes. In all cases the actual passing has been very peaceful/tranquil despite any pain that led to the death.

u have already bourne the consequences of not visiting the doctor. Now I think without wasting time u shud see the doctor. Dont worry ... it is a routine job for him to meet patients who have such problems ....so dont be nervous...he mite get an x ray or mri done as per the conditio...and then u wud be relieved of the long pain u have been bearing
Get well soon...m sure u wil rock!

i know everyone is probally telling you to see a doctor and this is still the best idea. if you did break your ankle years ago it will need a doctors advice on how to fit it, possibly surgery but maybe not. try ice or heat to releave any pain or swelling, you can also try wearing an ACE bandage for extra support.

I believe what you have is a fibular spiral fracture minor, It will hurt severly at random if not taken care of properly, it is a minor fracture so hasnt continued to break...but you need to have it checked out k good luck

First I think you need to go to a psychologist to get over your fear of seeing a doctor.
