i've got a huge scar on my left arm (and numerous stretch marks lol) and i've found that this has been the best for me - http://www.anti-scar.co.uk/ This combined with skin camouflage, a kind of more permanent makeup for the affected body parts (which can be prescribed by your doctor via the Red Cross - http://www.redcross.org.uk/ ) will probably help alot and fairly quickly. Obviously depending on the scar surgery may be the only answer, yet I can understand wanting to try the alternatives first - i'm the same. Good luck to you - hope this has helped.

There are no creams that can eliminate scars, I'm sorry to say. However, moisturising will help to keep the skin more supple.
Carefully applied make up can disguise scars if the right colour is chosen.
If it's a small scar then ask advice from someone on a cosmetic counter. If the scar is quite large, I know that the red cross can offer advice on products that can do a good job of disguising.
I hope this helps.

Too bad you had to waste your money to find out the truth, but some people have to learn the hard way.
There are no creams which eliminates scars. A scar is for life. Though it will fade with age, it will never disappear.
To help reduce the size of a scar, you should use antibiotic ointment such as Neosporin while the wound is healing. But once it's healed and becomes that scar, it's your new friend.

Well, personally I use a scar cream with cocoa butter and vitamin e in in, I use it every day, and I have noticed a difference, but it takes AGES. I have self-harm scars all over my legs and these are nearly gone, but I have been using the cream for 6 months now, and it took at least a month of daily use before there was any noticable difference. Persever and you'll get somewhere.

Sorry there are not really any useful preparations except those that provide cosmetic cover.
The appearance of a scar will change over as much as 2 years so if the scar is recent it may yet improve.
If the scar is somewhere prominent like your face and is already of reasonable age a plastic surgeon may be able to help.
NHS plastic surgery may be possible, unfortunately however it is much less freely available for purely cosmetic procedures than it used to be.

Vitamin E taken internally will help prevent scarring. Most people are short of this essential nutrient, found in wheatgerm and seeds.
Get a good natural source such as wheatgerm oil capsules.
You can also use a good quality vitamin E cream which may help a little. Many commercial creams have tiny amounts of relatively expensive wheatgerm oil in them. You could try pure wheatgerm oil (available from aromatherapy outlets).
Honey is also good for preventing scarring from burns - applied on the burn.

Natural Aloe juice squeezed from Aloe leaves - It is most effective healing, scar removal thing and lowest in cost. The aloe leave is available in some supermarket, about $1.50 a leave, use the jelly only to put on the area. It creates miracles. All man made lotions have chemicals, no good.

my husband asked our Dr this question regarding his scars and was told that there is no cream that would eliminate scars all you can do is keep them moisturised and they will become less noticeable, if you are really bothered with them see if you can speak to someone who is a make up artist as they will be best to advise you on how to cover the scars up.Try being cheeky and get in touch with your local TV studio you never know.

Scars will fade over time, but no amount of creams and potions will remove them. You can try arnica, a herbal remedy that helps to reduce bruising, it may help if the scar is puffy.

I've heard that vitamin e is good for scars but the cream didn't really work for one I had. However, I have recently had really bad spots of my chin and have been using neat vitamin e oil which seems to be keeping spot scars at bay.
