I have had this nagging, constant, needle like pain in my right leg for a couple years now. it hurts so bad sometimes i would wake up in the middle of the night or i couldnt even fall asleep because of the pain. Now it's even distracting me when i'm in class and driving. The pain starts from my knee cap but more on the side of the knee cap and it goes down the side of the shin. It hurts sooo bad. It's like sharp needle pain. It would stop for a lilttle bit and come back again this annoying pain! i went to the doc and they couldnt find out what's wrong with me the neurologist couldnt find anything wrong with me neither...any ideas?

it could be any number of things to a layman.

when i started to read your question, i thought that it could be circulation or varicose vein or something to that effect. but not being a doctor, i think my best advise could be to get an opinion from a doctor who really has your well being as a priority.

there was a time when i had spasms in my body from an ulcer hiding in my stomach. the doctors were looking at me like i was a hypochondriac because they didn't find the problem. they humored me with painkiller prescriptions. it wasn't until i moved to the city that a doctor ordered a moving x-ray and revealed the vexing ulcer.

all those years i endured pain for nothing because of something so simple! be sure that you find somebody who really cares about your better interests where your health is concerned.

You've probably been trying this already but persist... When he's trotting ask him to go into a canter so that the first stride he takes leads off on the right leg. So, in a trot, as he is just stepping onto his wrong leg, prepare, then push him into a canter. The next stride should be taken with the right leg. Keep up trying like this and you could see results. Some horses get in the habit of doing things a certain way. If you've ever tried to stop smoking or biting your nails you'll know just how difficult old habits are to break! Also, if he's only doing it on one side, he could have pain in his leg or shoulder. I hope I've helped. Hope you have many happy rides to come.

Sounds like sciatica to me. I have it and the symptoms you described sound exactly the same. Try motrin or a few tylenol before you go to sleep and a few more when you wake up, before school, work etc. Watch for numbness in your foot n toes and definitely see a doctor if you lose feeling in your groin area! It's not an emergency if it's sciatica but it's painful and something your primary doctor should be told about. Good luck

This sounds to me to be Sciatica, it is a pain caused by a trapped nerve in the spinal cord. Between the intercostal spaces of the spine are sponge like cushions called discs. Sometimes these discs get squeezed out of shape and prolapse (hang out slightly) and press on the sciatic nerve, causing pain in the buttock and down the leg.
A physio therapist or and Osteopath should be able to help you with this problem.

Yes. Seek a second opinion from a different doctor.

It might help to get Xrays at a chiropractor. If it's sciatica he may be able to see where it originates. Whatever it is he ought to be able to help you. Physical therapy may help too.
