i injuried my right knee about 3 years ago and since then i have failed to engage my movements and muscle properly on my right side. My physio likened it to having a stroke, not so much as i couldn't move my right side but subcon i didn't want to for fear of reinjuring. i don't know if this is the source of the problem but i my right shoulder has become really stiff of late. Even in bed, when i lay on my back i can feel my shoulder blade sticking out making it very uncomfortable to to sleep. i also can lay on my right side due to this problem. At the moment i am doing Pilates and feel that my right side is getting better apart from my shoulder. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is wrong with my shoulder?

Well the Physio should pick up if your shoulder is subluxing. You most defiantly have to go back to a Doctor and get re-referred to physio and also need to see the orthopaedic specialist or it could even be neurological. DON'T go on like this because you have to get it sorted out NOW. If you have done all these things and have no joy then go to a sports massage therapist and get some exercises. Any way advise on this forum is pointless for you because you need an assessment.
Remember with exercises that some muscles will need stretching because they have become short and strong and some will need strength work because they become elongated and weak. So you can't do just anything. If you do the wrong ones you could make your scapula even more wing like. So do get help.

You may have a rotator cuff problem. I play sports quite a bit. Last hard fall I took I landed on my back and injured my shoulder. I thought it was a tear, went to get an MRI but found out I have onset arthritis in the area. I've been using bands/bungie cords (30-40 lb tests) and do curls--stretching out my arm to the side and bending my elbow to reach the other shoulder. I did it very lightly with only a few reps for a weeks then I got stronger and increased the tension & reps. I feel much better. But, I had a similar sharp pain in my shoulder, too. It hurt EVERYWHERE in that region. Get an XRAY or MRI done and start strengthening up that area very slowly, then gradually build up to stronger tension. I think it will help. PS I had problems sleeping, too.

I have suffered from this four seven years - mine was due to a car accident and was diagnosed as nerve ending damage! Nerves sending wrong signals to brain, blah blah!
As a result of over compensating to protect the injury, my body adjusted itself to cope with the problem but had the adverse affect of causing additional problems on the right side of my body, in particular my shoulder!
Exercise may not be the answer - you could be making the problem worse!
Could also be linked to a condition known as 'Frozen Shoulder' - a very painful problem!
You may need to consider drugs to relax the muscle in/around the shoulder! Talk to your doctor - Ametriptilin is a good relaxant - but you cannot drive or operate machinery - so be careful!

It could be "froze up" from not using it. Keep up with the Pilates class and keep it limber. (a heating pad should help too) As time goes by, you should notice that it moves farther and easier.
If this is not the case; see a doctor for x-rays. I don't think that you have a break or a fracture; if that were the case you would not be albe to move it all without pain.(you wouldn't be able to do the Pilates)
Good luck to you!

There are so many things it could be. It might be dislocated (as was suggested by someone else), it could be a torn or strained rotator cuff, or even arthritis, as well as a hundred other things. Try having a chiropractor take a look at it. If all else fails then go see your doctor and have him recommend a good ortho doc.

Be aware that one impression from one night is not necessarily grounds to make the assertion she is your dream girl. Approaching with that type of overconfident attitude, mayhave spilt over into the overt. Asking for a number is associated with romance often as cliche, she may have seen it as a threat to her relationship and striked preminently

Might be worth seeing a chiropractor, your body may have compensated for the injury and left you with stiff joints that need freeing up. I injured my pelvis which has resulted in me having bad neck and clicky jaw!! Chiropractor has really sorted out the problem.
