Yes you will have to take off your bra as the metal and strap clasps will show as artifact's on the images taken. This can lead to confusion when the consultant is looking and diagnostic reporting.
You will how ever be given a clean cotton gown to put over yourself so you are able to keep your dignity.
Please do not worry the Radiographers in x-ray are very helpfull and understanding professionals.
Good luck

That is good that your x-ray was clear. I'm sure they wer not whispering about anything about you, if there was something wrong with the x-ray, you would know right away and they would do additional views. You wouldnt have any effects after the x-ray at all. Maybe you should get re-checked to see if now something has changed in your lungs. I have been a radiographer for over 12 years.

If your bra has metal underwires yes, otherwise no.

I dont know why you are worried about that, they aren't going to be demanding for you to strip in front of them. They do have changing facilities if they want you to put a gown on. They wont want you to lie on the table naked.........xrays can go through skin and muscle so im quite sure they will go through clothes too!

Good luck and stop worrying!!!!!!

It depends on what area of the back is being x-rayed. For the thoracic spine, you will definitely have to take your bra off. For the lumbar spine, you may not have to, but you will have to remove your pants. They will have gowns available.

I've never had to remove my clothes for an x-ray, only my belt so the buckle wouldn't show up. And I work for a chiropractor, we don't have anyone remove their clothes for an x-ray. Suppose it just depends on the facility.

yes you will probably have to take your bra off because of the metal fasteners on it, dont worry though they will give you a gown to get changed into (in privacy).
