If he don't have his own prescription for it, I don't think its a very good idea since you talk about him being in the military and getting drug tested.

The percocet would probably work better, but dont give it to him after just taking the vicodin. He is better off just taking another vicodin. Yes both will show up in a drug test but not as the same substance. So by sticking to the vicodin he can validate its use with the prescription. Percocet is actually oxycodone/asprin where vicodin is hydrocodone/tylenol. Try giving him Ibuprophen with the vicodin and break it up (the vicodin) it will hit faster but not last as long. So if he is in serious pain and you've got the regular strength (5/500) try taking 1 ibuprophen 1 1/2 vicodin. I remember how much it hurt, I had all 4 removed at the same time and I was a smoker and got dry sockets and it was miserable. this is what I did plus I got a syringe I filled with sea salt water (warm) that I squirted right in the holes and I used cloves extract, which I dont think they recommend any more. burned like hell at first (the cloves) but actually worked well. But play it safe with the percocet, call the dentist and ask for a script so if he gets tested he will have a legitimate reason for having percocet in his system. Good luck, I totally empathize.

It really depends on what they're looking for. It is possible that the military would look for pain killers, as if they didn't, many could use them recreationally. Obviously this isn't the case, but on paper, you know how it goes. I would say the best idea is to talk to the dentist and request a perscription for something stronger like percocet.
The biggest thing is that if they are looking for people using recreational painkillers in these tests, oxycodone is probably second only to morphine, and oxycodone is what percocet is, along with tylenol. This, of course, is why percocet often is more effective for many people.
Again, best to just get a perscription. No risk that way :)
Best wishes!

actual i hate whilst human beings attempt to answet those questions whilst they even have not got any concept what they are speaking approximately!!!! The differnce between is Percocet belongs interior the Oxycodone family members and Vicodin is Hydrocodone. Dosing is in many circumstances the comparable, i.e. 5/325, 5/500, 7.5/500 ect. Itching is a typical area effect of an opiad analgesic, although if it turns extreme or you start up having worry respiration, you may get to an ER rapidly!! the two a form of medicine could reason extreme respiration issues.

Vicodin is a class 3 narcotic, with hydrocodone. Percocet is a class 2 narcotic with oxycodone, which is a much stronger narcotic derivative.
Both are narcotics and both can be detected.

Ok heres a little secret about the military. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A PERSCRIPTION, YOU CAN'T TAKE IT!!!!!!!!!
Yes it will show up in the drug screen 100%. He will be questioned about the vicodin if it is not in his medical records which it should be. I mean he was prescribed it.
If they don't find it in there just give them the damn bottle.
