I had surgery back in October to remove two fragments of bone from the navicular/cunieform area, which I apparently broke and it healed. But had fragments floating about causing pain. So he removed those and that area feels okay. But where he cut into me it still is tender and I have a pin pricky feeling when you touch that area. But around that area, epsecially near the ankle when I move my foot up and down, it feels like my muscle is about to tear. And sometimes the pain radiates up to my right side of my knee. There is very slight swelling and slight tenderness. Is this normal after surgery - after 5 months? I also have toe pain which the doctor said I have capsulties but that was a month ago - and I still have pain. The doctor has taken many xrays and can't see anything wrong. Can you still have a fracture if it had healed? Or am I a big baby? Please help.

Sometimes you need to go to therapy to get the scar tiswsue from an operation massaged away.
It feels creepy if you dont deal with it.

Any time you have surgery the nerves take awhile to heal, in some cases they dont. That's probably why you feel the pricklies. As for swelling, each person is different, so some take longer than others to go down. Be patient with yourself.

If you're having a lot of pain, perhaps some physical therapy can help you deal with the scar tissue and to keep your muscles stretched out.

You asked if you could have a fracture if it healed. Yes, but not the same fracture. If your doctor isn't catching it on Xrays you probably don't have one.

The most important thing is to be patient. I had surgery on my knee and I still have miscellaneous aches and pains 10 months after. Let your body heal at it's own pace.

It is possible to have pain. This could be because of muscle fatigue or dehydration. Try exercising all parts of your body. It also sometimes is due to disuse atrophy. Consult a doctor if it persists. You can also look for information in the web. I found this website very useful. http://aches.in/cramps.html
