There is one huge one at the base of his skull. I am worried that it is in a very dangerous place. He has run no fever and it looks as though it is coming to a head and is going to drain. He refuses to see a doctor no matter how much I beg him to. He says he does not feel like sitting in the doctor's office till next week. I am worried . It does not have any red lines or anything running out of it. It is the location that really worries me! Am I being paranoid?

I was diagnosed pre-diabetic due to problems with my kidneys. Exercise is out of the question due to physical disabilities. The only they told me was to cut out all starch and fruit. How can I devise a healthy eating plan to teach my children how to eat so that they do not have the same problem. Tried doing internet searches for diabetic diets and came up with nothing.

My two year old was just diagnosed with type 1 in June. We are a low income family and I'm pretty sure that I could get a grant or funding of some sort to take classes but I'm not sure where to start.

This happened to me recently and I would like to know if it has happened to someone else...and what did you do about it?

I went to Busch Gardens not long ago with my diabetes supplies in a small bag (meter, glucose gel, a glucagon kit, an extra pump infusion set). As I was getting in line for a roller coaster, the person at the entrance told me I could not take my bag in line. I told him that I was a diabetic and the bag contained everything I needed in case of an insulin reaction. I told him in no uncertain terms that the bag was going with me. I was not going to wait in line for an hour, in the extreme heat, with no supplies and no water bottle. I told him I would leave the bag on the loading dock and that I was responsible for it. After much hemming and hawing, he finally let me pass. This really upset me. I needed to have those supplies with me but he couldn't have cared less.

Has this happened to anyone else?

My 51yo wife (of 30+ years) was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes about a year and a half ago. She has to inject herself 3x a day. She is tired about 85% of the time. She gets hellatious mood swings. She sometimes cries at the drop of the hat.

I am really trying hard to be supportive but am not sure of just how much more abuse (abuse might be too harsh a word but that is how I sometimes feel) I can put up with.

Ever since her diabetic attack (I had to take her to the ER, her blood level was 575) she gets confused easily, has an extremely hard time staying focused, she also has a hard time paying attention.

What I want to know is this:
Is there a support group I can contact for husbands (or just family members)?

Is there anyone (hub or wife) near our ages and circumstances that I can talk to?

We don't know anyone personally that has type1 that we can talk to.

My email is cb865@comcast.net Please write me (or answer here) if you think you might be able to help.

thx

im 15 years old. latley i have almost completley lost my appetitie which is really weird for me since im never like that. except for im still thirsty but now im thirsty even more it seems like my mouth keeps getting dry. i keep getting really bad stomach pains too. also when im doing simple things like getting up, or something little happens like the lights turn on or something like that i feel like im going to throw up. also ive been feeling dizzy. exspecially when i stand up. and ive been very tired too but when ever i try to sleep i cant. does anybody know if i might be diabetic. my mom used to joke around with me because i eat a lot of fruit exspecially watermellon and strawberrys and she would say those are really sugary your going to become diabetic. but idk? does anybody know if it sounds like i might be? or if im not, what else i might have?

When I need to check my blood gloucose in public, should I go to a restroom or other quiet place? Sometimes I catch people staring at me suspiciously. I also check it at my desk after meals. Most of my co-workers know I am diabetic and, as far as I know, have not complained to a supervisor about my testing at my desk. I would like to hear from everyone; diabetics, where do you test when in public and non-diabetics, would it disturb you to see someone checking their blood gloucose at a neighboring table in a restaurant or at their desk?
