Type 1 is when your body doesn't produce the insulin, which help the body turn sugar and carbs into energy. Most often, people are diagnosed with Type 1 in childhood or young adulthood . Most all Type 1's have to take insulin. Most use a pen, or the insulin vial, but some use a pump.
Type 2 is when your body has stopped or has a lot of trouble producing insulin. It usually hits people who are overweight. Some people with Type 2 can control it with diet and exercise, but some need to take oral tablets or if they can't control themselves, injections.
There is now a 3rd type out Type 3, but I don't really know too much about it. It is a mixture of the two, somehow. No matter how many types, they are all very serious disorders and can be life threatening if not treated. It attacks your vital organs, and will damage them over a period of time.
You need to have a finger stick done to find out what your readings are. If they are constantly over I would say 170 then I would assume you are a diabetic. The doctor told me 80-120 without eating, and 100-140 within 2 hours of eating, that's between those 2 hours. See your doctor and he or she can do an A1c blood test to see what your numbers have been for the past 3 months or so. Diabetics tend to eat ice a lot, go to the bathroom seems like a hundred times a night, and are constantly thirsty, hungry, then want to sleep immediately. Hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck.

I have type one diabetes.

Type One is when the pancreas stops making the insulin that your body needs to break down the sugars you consume. It only affects people ages born-around 50-60. You usually get it if it runs in your family. If your pancreas stops working, you have to take blood sugar tests and shots. When you are high you have headaches, stomachaches, dry-mouth - always thirsty, moody, tired, and some are lucky to not get some of these symptoms (at least all the time). If you are not diabetic, symptoms to look out for are chronic headaches, chronic stomachaches, always thirsty, always needing to use the bathroom(#1), being moody, and being tired a lot of the time, and it will be worse right after eating (especially sweets). But taking a shot will make you fell 100% better.

Type two is when your pancreas gives out some insulin. This is usually caused by not eating right and being overweight. I would rather have this type because all you have to do is exercise and take medication (like pills and sometimes shots). I am not sure of the symptoms because I do not have it, but if you eat right and are not overweight, you probably won't get it. :)

If you think you now have diabetes, ask someone with a blood sugar "tester" (monitor) if you can test (2 hrs. after eating). Normal blood sugars (for a non-diabetic) are 80-120. Anything above you should go to your doctor and talk about. Anything lower and you might be hypoglycemic, where you pancreas creates too much insulin causing you to go low (still talk to your doctor). When you are low you are usually sweaty, lightheaded, can think clearly, slurred speech, shaky... Just have something with sugar in it and wait about 20 min before re-testing your blood sugar. No matter what, if you are this concerned, talk to your doctor and they can do some tests to see if you are or not. If you are, they will put you in the hospital for about three days and do some training so you can understand more about it. Good Luck!!!

Hope I helped.

there is type 1 diabetes, where the person is insulin dependent. then type 2 diabetes where the person can control blood sugar with diet, exercise, and maybe oral meds.
the only way to really know is to go to the dr. they will have you monitor your fasting blood sugar as well as your blood sugars through the day as you eat. if your blood sugars are consistantly high they can also do an HgbA1C. If i'm correct in this, if not, please someone say otherwise, it will give them an idea of what your average blood sugars have been running over quite some time. first, though, they will want to do a fasting blood sugar. you don't eat, you go to the dr, and they draw blood.
they can also do a glucose tolerance test. this is something pregnant women can tell you all about. they do a fasting blood sugar, you drink some nasty sugary stuff, and they do subsequent blood sugars hourly anywhere from once to three times to see if you are making the insulin to cover the sugar you just drank. yuck. but it's pretty effective.
good luck, hope this helped.

Type 1 is when the pancreas stops creating insulin to regulate blood sugars and shots are required. Type 2 is typically genetic and is mostly caused by being overweight or just in general bad health. The pancreas CAN secrete insulin, but not enough to keep blood sugars where they should be (91-140 depending on if you are fasting or 2 hours after a meal). Diet and exercise can help keep blood sugars within the normal ranges. Sometimes there is oral meds that can treat Type 2.

Type 1 (sometimes called Juvenile) means your body doesn't produce insulin, the chemical that helps turn sugar and carbs into energy. Most often, people are diagnosed with Type 1 in childhood or young adulthood (but not always). People with Type 1 almost always have to take insulin either by injections or an insulin pump.

Type 2 means your body stopped or has trouble producing insulin. It usually occurs in people who are overweight or inactive. Some people with Type 2 can control it with diet and exercise, but some need to take insulin via pills or injections.

Both are very serious disorders and can be life threatening if not treated.

People typically notice they they are constantly very thirsty and urinate all the time. But only a blood glucose test can truly diagnose it.

There are 2 main types of diabetes. Different types of diabetes require different treatment.

For instance, the usual treatment for type 2 diabetes patients is the prescription of oral tablets. There are mainly 4 different types of tablet treatment for people with type 2 diabetes. These 4 different oral treatments are usually taken alone or in combination. Many patients with type 2 diabetes find that these medications when taken with a healthy eating pattern will keep their diabetes under control. However it will usually take some time to discover the most effective combination or dosage for each individual patient.

there are two kinds that i know of. one is I and II. one is with insulin shots and the other is with meds. (pills) sometimes if your sugars are way up most of the time and to be kept down you have to have shots so they won't ruin your organs. if II then you have to have pills and have some sort of insulin yourself in your body that does help abit so the pills can help with that. there is also low sugar not sure what you call this but that is when your sugar is low and it can cause organ failure or mess up. that to is something to be watchingt with meter reading sugars
