like daily. Because see, my grandmother can't have a lot of potassium because of her kidneys. So like what's normal so that we (my family and myself) can know how much to let her have; what foods to eat. I found a list of foods that are low in potassium but my mom really wants to know what's a normal amount, you know, so she can make sure my grandma doesnt get that much. Thanks yall.

My husband's father died of complications of diabetes when he was 53 about ten years ago and here recently his uncle (who already had both legs aputated) just got scheduled to have both hands aputated. So now my stubborn husband is finally going to go to the doctor, but in order to make an appointment online I need to know who he needs to see. It is easier to do it online instead of the automated system so i need help. We have good insurance and all I just can't figure out what kind of doctor he needs. thanks

Well my gran has just died and i suppose I'm coming to terms with it but it's my grandad I'm worried about. He's okay I suppose because well we could see it coming - she was in hospital most weeks. But any he's got diabetes and goes into a hypoglycemic coma about three times a year which is apparently quite a lot. When he went into one it was okay because my gran could phone 999 quite easily and so it was never fatal. But now she's gone who's going to phone? And because you can't actually tell you're going into one then emergency cords would be useless. So what I'm really trying to say is that there has got to be more than just my grandad witht his and how do they alert someone when it happens? otherwise he could die and I'm not going to let happen! And as we're living in Germany he won't live with us. He won't live with anyone come to it because he's too independent. So please help. Thankyou

If I'm 14 years old, not overweight, no history of diabetes in the family, consumed lots of sugar (I used to drink lots of coke), has primary diabetes symptoms of thirst and lots of urination and my urine is pretty colorless or pale. Could I have, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, diabetes insipidus or nothing (I'm not entirely sure I my thirst is real or imagined, I'm also a hypochondriac). It could be diabetes type 1 because I'm still 14 and it is known as the juvenile diabetes or diabetes insipidus because my urine is pretty colorless/pale? I'm gonna see a doctor soon but in the meantime I need some answers.

If a person eats a lot of sugary foods and has a really sugary diet, can that cause diabetes or increase the person's risk of getting diabetes? How does eating lots of sugar affect diabetes or a person's vulnerability to diabetes?

I am getting really worried. this weekend she felt as if she could not speak, felt so ill she went to the car and cried for 30 min....what eles can I look for to try and figure this out? she eats good, not too much junk or soda, eats hearty makes good choices, is not doing drugs, not pregnant.....gets enough sleep. the only other clue into this is

He has always been overweight, but after 8 years of marrige and his recent 30th birthdday, he is at least 50 pounds heavier than when we married, maybe more. I htink he weighs at least 310 pounds and is 5'11'' he gets tired all the time now, when he comes home from work he just crashes. the only things he does anymore with enthusiasm is cook and play video games. He seems like he is just fading away.
Now I can't explain this: on his elbow he keeps developing these little bumps of skin, size of a pencil eraser or slightly larger, they are raised and open sores that bleed, he picks at them as though they itch, they have left scars that look like chicken pox in the past, but I know the one he has now has been there at least a month. Not only are they kinda gross, but I am afraid it is a sign of diabetes. His mom is non insulin dependant diabetic, as well as his oldest bro: 45 and now his dad recently diagnosed. He does not care for his body and I do not want to lose him! he neverseesdocs

I am 24 years old and have had perfect vision allmy life. Recently my eyes seem to be a bit blurry, or they feel like theyre straining. Also at the same time I have been experiencing a mild tingling in my left foot. Could this be a sign of diabetes? If so what kind of doctor would I go to to check up on this?

He is a diabetic and I finally convinced him to go to the doctor because he could not turn his head it was so bad. The doctor gave him an antibiotic and he is taking this. How do I know when to take him to the hospital? He has not been running a high fever and he keeps putting heat back there. But his neck and back of his head is stiff and hard about the size of a golf ball! It is so scary to me. If he runs fever should I take him?It is hard getting him to the doctor! He does not want to go!
