Take some time to learn the exchange lists for planning meals and snacks. It's a shorthand method diabetics can use to control their food intake. Once you know how much a serving, or exchange, is for your favorite foods, it will be easy to plan your meals and snacks to keep your blood sugar stable.

That would depend on your blood sugar level. If your low you want something sweet. On the other hand if your high you want a high protein snack to help bring your sugar level down. I snack using cheese and crackers normally if I'm high for low and orange works great. Stay away from the chips and other junk foods due to hidden sugars.

my diabetic doctor told me before bedtime to eat a few graham crackers. Fruit is good but it does have a lot of sugar.
