I have read all the answers given so far and if you read them you will see that people have different opinions about what is normal. Diabetes is far to serious a condition to be diagnosed here on Yahoo Answers. See a diabetes professional and get tested (not painful) and get an opinion from someone who actually knows the facts. Not just those you can tell us. A glucose tolerance test would tell you wonders and the American Diabetes Association does them often for free. Check them out in your local area and find out for sure what is going on. Have a happy life with or without diabetes.

It depends on what scale you use the scale of measurement is different between the USA and Canada. Here in Canada a normal reading is between 4 - 7 mol. Anything above 7 is considered high and below 4 is considered low. On a side note i find it interesting that there are three scales used worldwide. One for the US one for Canada and a separate one for Europe. You'd think that as diabetes is so wide spread someone would come up with one international scale for all diabetics to use.

A high reading would be 180 or above especially if its fasting. If it happens only occasionally you can live with it, if its all the time you should see your MD who is caring for your diabetes and change your meds. A low would be under 70. At that point you may feel dizzy, shaky, and sweaty.I don't get those S/S @ 70 but @ 65 or lower.I still had to have a tweaking of my meds for low.
