Poor little thing !! Dizziness is a classic symptom of vitamin B12 deficiency......... therefore if she is not eating enough foods such as cheese, eggs, fish, milk and organ meats such as lambs fry and kidneys then she will experience a vast array of symptoms. Most girls decide to ditch the dairy and meat food groups in their teen years - I remember doing it!! What they don't realise is that not only are they robbing their bodies of all the precious B vitamins their growing bodies so sorely need but that they can also get pretty scary symptoms.

Other symptoms??

Fatigue and exhaustion, migraines and headaches, insomnia, constipation, excessive sweating, vomiting and nausea, tingling and prickling and numbing sensations in the outer extremities, chest pains and palpitations, inability to concentrate, moodiness, irritability ....... pretty scary hey ................. no worries, if she's a vegetarian then simply go to the chemist and ask the pharmacist to recommend a good quality vitamin B supplement including all the B's as they work best together. The B vitamins are a water soluble group of vitamins and therefore the body cannot neither store or produce them - we need to ingest them on a daily basis.

Expect to pay around $30.00 AUD for 125 tablets - buy hey, what price your health ....... :0)

CHEERS

GOOD LUCK

You need to take her to a very good doctor, not just a usual GP. She could have anything and you know she is not feeling good. If you think it is sugar, go buy a glutrometer at WalMart (really inexpensive) and some strips and test her on a regular basis and keep records. Also test her bp regularly. I think a different doctor is a better idea tho. Low blood sugar can cause dizzyness, weakness, change in eyesight but then so can a lot of other things. It takes a bit to get your sugar up after you eat and if it is low enough to cause the above symptoms, it will take a half hour or so to get it up in the normal range. It can't hurt to check. I'm diabetic so if you have any questions, I can be emailed.

Go to another doctor. I wouldn't accept this. Diabetes is easily diagnosed with urine test and blood tests.
What you described sounds like low blood pressure more than diabetes to me.

Ensure she eats every 4 hours eg 4 main meals and 2 snakes of fruit or biscuits and cheese and 2 L water.

It depends on your age, weight etc. You could have had a postural drop in your blood pressure, or you could be low on your blood sugar level. If this dizziness was experienced with chest, neck or left arm pain then yes you should call 911. However, book in to see your doctor and he will check you blood pressure and probably do some blood tests. Please see your doctor before your son has to call 911. OK

Eat less sugar especially soda, candy and cookies. Check blood/sugar 2 hours after eating a meal with carbohydrates.

not sure what that meant numers off? what numbers off what doe s that mean if sugar count blood is 100 or higher worry then get to another doctor and have this checked they can say borderline but this is only an issure that will turn higher and therefore if you get it now will be ok. if her problem is blood pressure i am not sure but i would head to specialist instead of someone who isn't concerned. you are that is what counts here.
