I was diagnosed pre-diabetic due to problems with my kidneys. Exercise is out of the question due to physical disabilities. The only they told me was to cut out all starch and fruit. How can I devise a healthy eating plan to teach my children how to eat so that they do not have the same problem. Tried doing internet searches for diabetic diets and came up with nothing.

Take care of you first. Your kids are healthy and food doesn't cause diabetes.

Go see an endocrinologist. He will refer you to a dietitian [ any doctor tells you to cut out starches and fruit knows NOTHING ]

You can then join support groups, diabetes ed classes .
Subscribe to diabetes magazines and learn all you need to know.
Get rid of that idiot doctor who gave you dangerous information.

what you eat is no fried foods no starches and you eat fruit, veggies and lean meat. hardly any pork if you hae high chorle. if you fix 6 tiny meals all day till bedtime is ideal if you can just make the meals small for you and useonly 3 oz meat uncooked first the best to do is grill meat out. but you can boil it having fied once in awhile but dont' eat potatoes and rice and leave corn out . lots of fresh veggies and salads.
