my mom has had this problem for about 5 years now. She is 46. She gets horrible back pain and her nerves occasionally get pinched causing her face and arms to become numb. It has really become a problem lately. She has to see a chiropractor every week or more depending. She has also done physical therapy. While these have seemed to keep her pain from getting worse it definitely is not getting better. She is even considering acupuncture. My question is what do you know about this disease and what can be done to help (and don't just say drugs..thats the obvious answer...) I have heard little about fusing the spine or an experimental disc surgery. My mom would prefer the ladder but refuses since it's only in the experimental phase. Where can I find info on these surgeries and maybe convince my mom it is safe (if it is safe and guaranteed improvement).

If a cold sore in the mouth is viewed as a temporary discomfort and is generally accepted...
Why is a cold sore on the genitals something that ruins your life?
Don't anyone try to tell me that they are different. Because they are not. Both HSV1 and HSV2 can be in either the mouth, genitals, fingers, or eyes. If you don't know this, then look it up. It is true.
So... why the stigma? Most genital herpes cases are caught from oral sex, usually man to woman.
So, why the stigma? Why is a genital cold sore a "life ruining" event? I just don't get it.

I was diagnosed with HPV-the type that can become cervical cancer. I had my precancer cut out but what about if you get pregnant? Can you pass this on to your child if you don't have a C-section? Also I have heard that this can also cause anal cancer and vocal cord cancer. Has anyone heard this or have any more information on this?

This is a very curious question. I was arguing with someone. she was telling me that if someone put the infected blood in your food you can get it. is that correct. because according to my knowledge, i did not think you can get that through drinking of infected blood whether direct or through food. I want serious answers please!!

The instructions on my singulair say to take it in the evening. I've been out for a few days, and just got my new perscription and my allergies are really bothering me. Is it okay to go ahead and take it now and then start tomorrow taking it in the evening? Why is it that I should take it in the evening in the first place?

A local family who we are close friends with has just has two family members diagnosed with cancer and leukemia. I know they will be spending lots of time at the hospital, and would like to make a sort of "care package" basket full of things that they will need or may come in handy. Some things they can just "grab and go" to take to the hospital which would be helpful to the family. I was thinking lotion, hand sanitizer (lots of miniature size things), hair brushes, combs, little toothbrushes, mini toothpaste, deodorant maybe?, crackers, advil, tylenol, candy bars, mini chip bags, gum, breath mints, etc. I would like to know what any of you who have had personal experience with this would suggest. ALL SUGGESTIONS WELCOME!!! Please help me, I would like to make this soon!
