i got a lot lot of bite mites from sleeping in my friend's bed one night. i went to the dermatologist and she prescribed me some desonide lotion, cetirizine (oral) and an optional dihydrochloride if it is too itchy. i used the desonide and the cetirize for 2 days and my bites seemed to be getting better but on the 2nd night i took the dihydrochloride and when i woke up my bites were swelling up! they were really itchy and they were worse than ever! i don't know if it is because of the dihydrochloride or is it just a coincidence? why is my medication not working?

I woke up a few days ago with my mouth and tounge swollen. I could hardly talk and was difficult to understand. I went to work anyway but a few hours later, I developed a fever and went home and slept most of the day. Slowly it has gone away (I still can feel some sensivity in the roof of my mouth).

Now, although only the roof of my mouth feels a bit painful, my whole mouth and lips are very sensitive to anything even mildy spicy. I like Jack cheese and had some but found that I couldn't even think of eating it. I ate a bite the other night and it burned my mouth terribly. Before, I enjoyed it all the time. I tried taking a shot of wisky at a party of a friend and found that it also burned my mouth and tounge. I had to spit it out it hurt so much.

I'm worried that this is a symptom of something else very serious going on in my body. Does anyone else know what can cause this?

Thanks - Rich

My doctor says my anti-thyroid antibodies are elevated. I do not know what the anti-thyroid antibodies are called. As far as I can tell by the research I have found on the internet, anti-thyroid antibodies are associated with Hashimotos/hypothyroidism. I thought that hypothyoidism would make my heart rate slow. Also, does anyone know what the anti-thyroid anitbody is called? My doctor says that the normal limit is 35.0, my level was over 1,000.

well we have had smoking, then alcohol, now red meats contribute to cancer, you see i dont think they still know what causes cancer, they are clutching at straws, we will all be in little bubbles before long, i will not change my lifestyle i believe when my time is up its up what do you think, i feel sorry for the bars with smoking ban then alcohol, and the farmers that may go out of bussiness due to this last statement.

about 1 mon ago she found out she has cancer which has spreaded to SEVERAL areas. she's in the hos now and expected to come home today. the docs said there's nothing else they can do. omg, i can't believe i'm even saying that ;>( i can't even express how i feel about this even on how the docs treated her. he was sooo blunt to her as tho she don't have feelings. "you can do whatever you want, nothing is gonna help you" was his statement. right now her breathing is the biggest prob cuz there's a mask that covers i think the whole side of 1 of her lungs. i know what cancer means exspecially when it's the fast type, but there is also a place in my head that still holds hope. i know that GOD can zap all of that cancer out of her in a blink, so i hold tight to that hope.
anyways, i came across this site. i know lots of stuff isn't true on the net, but...
should i give this a try, what do we have to loose?
what do you guys think?

I washed my clothes in a public laundry and when I brought them home I found that a piece of underwear belonging to a female was in with them ( this obviously was not mine). It must have been in the drum and I mustn't have checked it throughly. I washed my underwear and bedsheets in this wash at 40 degrees. Do you think I could catch crabs or herpes from the underwear if the person was infected. I only did a 40 degree wash- I think most bacteria are denatured at 60 degrees.

Lately, I've been thirsty...almost all the time. Tonight in a two hour period I drank three bottled waters, and was still thirsty. I'll sit down to watch TV (usually about a 2 hour period at night) and can go through a jug of water (I don't know...probably 1 1/2 litres or so). I'll also wake up about two times during the night and be soooo thirsty...I usually keep a waterbottle by my bed, so, I mean, it's a temporary fix, but why am I so thirsty all the time?

My grandma has diabetes, and I was checked a couple years ago.

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I am soooo tired in the mornings (the past two days I've fallen asleep in my morning class, even though I'm getting up around 8 and going to sleep around 11 the night before), but at night I just want to keep going. I don't know if this could be blood sugar related or not.

Anyway, if anyone could tell me if this sounds like possible diabetes (or anything else for that matter), I'd really appreciate it.

Since the 1950s, we have spent billions looking for a cure. Do most of you believe we will not ever find a cure?

I'm afraid I have oral herpes, but the bumps aren't exactly what I've read described.

Yet, I don't want to falsely comfort myself. What other possibilities are there? Bumps on the lips usually mean only one thing, right?

I haven't did it with a girl or kissed or anything since the end of August, yet these are just showing up.

Okay, I do have a strong personality but lately I feel too angry and irritable...like pms everyday. Four years ago I had an embolization to shrink fibroids in my uterus. This was my first indication that my problem was hormonal. Clicking noises bother the hell out of me. I speak too sharply to people sometimes and I feel attacked at certain moments. I'm articulate and generally a nice person but recently I've been what even I term a "b@#tch". Anyone can relate or tell me what could be going on? I'm 43 years old, still get my period regularly, overweight, a professional and usually pretty easy going and fun to be around. HELP! Should I get meds? Take certain vitamins? Xanax? I don't know and don't want to just medicate myself with no results. I'm not depressed but have had a few traumatic events happen one after the other. A baby we were adopting was taken away, my uncle died in a car accident and I'm fat (again, after losing 25 lbs, I've gained 30 back) HELP!
