I had already had a combination of two other drugs before I was switched to Taxol. The first two drugs had really bad side effects and I had heard that Taxol was the worst. So, I was just preparing myself for something really bad. What I noticed were sore joints, as if I had arthritis. That was all I remember about that drug. I didn't think it was unbearable. It was such an improvement over the previous drugs, Adriamyacin and Cytoxin, that I was downright relieved. I could eat with no problem. I had such difficulty eating with the previous drugs that I made up for lost time!

I had a combination of Taxotere, Cytoxan and Adriamycin. There are so many side effects associated with these drugs. Decreased whit blood cell count, decreased platelet count, hair loss, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea , vomiting, rash, numbness and tingling in hands and feet peripheral nerve irritation or damage, swelling of feet and hands, darkening of nail beds and skin creases of hands, sores in mouth or on lips, stopping of menstrual period, fatigue, blood in urine, acne, shortness of breath, cough, muscle aches, increase of weight due to swelling. I was given meds for the nausea and vomiting, I also have weight gain, swelling of feet and ankles, no menstrual period, fatigue, shortness of breath, cough, sores in mouth and was given meds for that, became lactose intolerant, nerve damage in my feet and now on neurotten. Lost all my hair right after 2 nd treatment, bone pain and back ache. But now the only problems I'm having since surgery and radiation is nerve damage to my feet and nerve damage to my right side of my body from surgery I still have problems with memory and fatigue. But other than that I'm doing great! Oh No more menstral periods and thats great. Im on hormone therapy for the next 5 years now, only draw back is hot FLASHES!!!!!! Good luck with your treatments. God Bless! You'll make it!
