After my brother in law told me that his wife is very ill now, she can't stop upchucking and unable to get any solid food down, and that has been 4 days, two days in the hospital so far.. and she is diabetic, along with renal failure, congestive heart failure.. will she be alright?? What can happen to her if she doesn't improve??? I've been watching her health deteriorate over the past year, it is so sad!!!

Your sister-in-law is gravely ill.
All her organs are shutting down.

Please allow her to go in Peace and do not force her to live on machines and hopes of miracles.

The best you can do is be there for her.Talk, don't talk, just visit daily.Perhaps some pretty flowers or balloons will brighten up her day.
I always like it when I see someone in the hospital with their own colorful blanket or quilt.Just something to make her feel good and leave at the end of the bed.
You and your dear family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Be Strong.

Spunky, It's very hard to watch this. She sounds very ill, but sometimes even very ill people pull out of a dive in their health for a while. We cannot predict exactly what will happen, but do say the things to her you need to say. Then, no matter what happens, you will know you have said the things to her she needs to hear from you.

When my grandfather was 75, and had emphysema, his doctor told my grandmother she should have a family reunion so everyone in the family could come say good-bye. We all came, and we shared our favorite stories about him at dinner. It was a great day. So great for my grandfather, that he lived to be nearly 91. Love sometimes carries us further than we expected.

Even if your sister-in-law cannot live any longer, you will send with her your love.

Please do yourself and your brother a huge favor and you should be talking and asking these questions to her doctor. He should give you the answers you are looking for since you have given us a lot of information of what is wrong with her health but he or she, the doctor should be the only one to who gives you the answers to your questions. My heart goes out to you and your family but remember, no matter what you are told, love, support and reassurance is what she really needs from you along with prayer. Good luck to you and your family.

Congestive heart failure and being diabetic on top is not a good thing. She is at her end. She will not be alright unless she gets dialysis and a new heart to boot. She is very sick. She is going to die. Help your brother in law get her things in order. It is sad to watch someone you care about go. Be strong for your brother in law and volunteer to do anything you can for him in his time of need. So sad to hear a situation like this. I will keep your family in my thoughts.

Kmay is right, ask the doctor these questions. He will know her health better. It does sound bad but only he knows how bad it is and if she has hope. I will prayer for her and hope that she is a fighter and can pull thru. Don't listen to the doomsday naysayers, where there is life there is hope.
