Ok, I drank 2 cups of home brewed coffee today. I don't feel sick ( nauseated) but the bottom of my stomach, close to my pelvic bone it aching now. My guess is I drank too much coffee too fast, but a second opinion never hurts. Please don't say, go to the doctor. I know if the pain persists I should see a doctor, but I should atleast give the caffeine time to wear off first. Could the coffee be making that area of my stomach sore? And, if so.... is there a way to deal with it and keep my coffee?

Hi,
Recently I was rushed to the emergency room because I was unconcious, my breathing was very shallow and my blood pressure and heart rate were starting to drop dramatically, the paramedic said when we neared the hospital I started to "crash" so they called ahead to recuss..
Once in recuss it took them 3 hours to stabilise me to a stable but critical condition and I was in intensive care unit in a coma on life support with a nasal gastric tube in and a cathather..

Everyone is saying I came very close to death because I went into respiratory arrest but I just can't seem to believe them, I view near death as when a person needs to be defibrillated and their heart stops beating and what not..

Is what I went through close to death?

I'm 16 years old. I've had sex with three different guys. All of them happen to be clean. We didn't use condoms while having sex. A week before my period my vagina starts to itch and i get these discharges which are cottage-cheese like. I do not normally have these kinds of discharges. I washed my genital area with warm water and feminine wash. My itching and discharge have gone away. I've recently had my period. It's been two weeks since i've had those discharges. Did i contract any kind of STD? pls. help!

The boil is located on my lower right back/upper butt cheek. It looks a little infected, It doesn't hurt when I touch it either. I am thinking it may be from an infected hair follicle but with the outbreak of MRSA I thought I should check and see what some one else thinks.

I got a Brazilian wax two months ago. The lady didnt't use gloves, used her fingernails to peel off the hot wax, touched my labia with her fingers, and put her hand on my skin which was bleeding at the time. Two weeks later I got a yeast infection, which I got treated with a single pill (from the gyno). Now (about a month and a half later) I have another yeast infection, along with other symptoms of acute HIV such as sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, and slight fever, headaches, and muscle/joint pain. I got tested for HIV a month after the waxing incident and came back negative. I have to wait another two months to get accurate results back. My question is this: are recurrent yeast infections that don't respond to single dose medications a common symptom in acute or early staged of HIV? I'm really freaking out

There is a pain in the ankle joint and on the top side of the feet. While walking or standing. After long walk the pain continues while sitting and in sleeping position also. Pain killers or foot massage helps a little, but since about 2 years the pain is there more or less. When there is pain there is also tightness felt at the bottom center part of the feet Two years back there has been an operation for removing the uterus and ovaries. Doctor assumes it to be dryness of muscles which makes the muscles less elastic. This causes pain. One week medication was prescribed which did not help much and some injections in the feet are suggested which I have avoided as they are steroids. What is the medical term for such a disease? Is there any other solution and are there any tests by which the diagnosis can be ascertained.

I'm supposed to write an essay on a controversial subject in medicine and it has to involve a drug (may or may not be the main point of the essay). Does anyone have any suggestion? Nothing on Vioxx, HIV vaccination (although those are very good subjects) Thank you!

I had a pap smear done on tuesday night last week and I live right outside a big city in a pretty busy area. However, my gyno is located at a medical building next to a hospital. I am wondering if something waws wrong with my pap results do you think I would have been notified by phone by now? My doctors policy is to call if something is wrong. Please those who have had experience with this or those hwo have had abnormal results and how long it took for your doctor to notify you? Do you think I can ease my mind thatI would have been notified by now?

This happened when I was teaching English in China.

I was watching movies at a friend's apartment and stayed out quite late. I started to have a nagging pain in my jaw, but just figured it was fatigue and ignored it.

The next moring I woke up to find that one side of my face had swollen up to an immense size.

I ran a very high fever and vaguely remember a doctor and a nurse apparently trying to smother me with a blanket.

I never received any real diagnosis, and it's unlikely that it was mumps since I am innoculated against that. Anyone have any ideas- especially people who are in or have been to the Far East?
