Well alot of them are really young, and sometimes they feel more confidant asking people they don't know, and some Q's are embarrassing, and really it's all just a bit of fun and something to pass the time, and if someone learns something new in the process, then that's great.
Lighten up.
Starlet..

You are right. A lot of people come here, newly diagnosed with an ailment and don't know anything about it. However, doctors are not gods, and do not know everything. Sometimes I will come here and ask a question because I want the opinions of my fellow diabetics. I want to know what people who live with the disease thinks, not just what a textbook says.

Doctors don't know everything and hearing from people who all ready have a disease is a good thing. People with a disease actually know more than a doctor in many ways. They have lived through it and the incompetence of the medical profession is unbelievable.

I see a lot of questions from people who know they should go to the doctor but are hoping someone will give them an answer that allow them not to go. Others have problems that don't seem too serious but they want to know.

Yes some of the questions are not suitable for opinions on answers, we can hope that no one gives assurances that are inappropriate. Overall most answers send the questioner to the doctor when necessary and give relief to those that needlessly worry.

I think many people come on to try to get opinions of others. It's kinda like a second opinion. Most adults do know that they have to consult a physician before they attempt to self treat or self diagnose their ailments.
