Yes, it should help stop the nose bleeds.

Some folks find a dab of antibiotic ointment at the opening of the nose to help with moisturizing as well.

And of course, avoid picking or blowing the nose after a nosebleed. These actions remove the clot from the nose which all but guarantees another nosebleed (it's just like when you pick the scab off of a wound on your arm - it's going to bleed again!).
