In 1962, Houghton Mifflin published Silent Spring by American biologist Rachel Carson. The book catalogued the environmental impacts of the indiscriminate spraying of DDT in the US and questioned the logic of releasing large amounts of chemicals into the environment without fully understanding their effects on ecology or human health.
Other areas for information include:
The Environmental Protection Agency
The Endangered Species Act (DDT was killing the Eagles and Falcons)

Good luck with your project.

checkout the book "Our stolen future" (or generation, not sure which). It deals with the discovery of the problem of DDT.also have a look for websites regarding vietnamese hospitals which look after children of the generation which was exposed to high amounts of DDT (this could be an interesting approach, and probably not one taken by many people).
Good luck
