Ok, I drank 2 cups of home brewed coffee today. I don't feel sick ( nauseated) but the bottom of my stomach, close to my pelvic bone it aching now. My guess is I drank too much coffee too fast, but a second opinion never hurts. Please don't say, go to the doctor. I know if the pain persists I should see a doctor, but I should atleast give the caffeine time to wear off first. Could the coffee be making that area of my stomach sore? And, if so.... is there a way to deal with it and keep my coffee?

I do add creamer, for the record.
The cups were rather large.

the caffeine in the coffee can stimulate the muscles in the stomach which can cause a stomach ache. i know that sounds like a disgusting answer but do a search when you have time on caffeine and stomach aches and you will see what i mean. this happened to me drinking cola that was not de-caffinated. that is how i found out about this.

Try adding creamer to the coffee. And sometimes even if you had something to eat, it can cause you to have gas. and that can give you the sick feeling. But most of the time the pain goes away.

If you added creamer already then you may have a lactose problem. But most of the time it is gas. Try expresso. Se if that makes a difference.

I don't have any other problem but strong coffee in excess (I used to take long back when I didn't know it causes this) gave me the same trouble.
It may be due to gas. It solves itself given time, you r right in trying this.
I take very light coffee in small amount now.
Hope it helps.

if it happens again then yes it may be the problem, maybe the brand is too rich, try a milder one or perhaps try a decaffinated coffee,i know coffee can make one feel sick but i have'nt heard of it causing pain, perhaps it plays up with your gall bladder?
