It's driving me mad! I used to wear it all the time and now I can't wear it for more that 12 hours without it irritating me - my skins kinds of blisters. Anyone got any ideas why this might have happened?

The most likely cause is that the ring contains some nickel, a common metal allergy. I am afraid it will have to go.

Have you had the ring cleaned, perhpas you have got something on the ring that is irritating your skin. Did the problem start after you handled/put your hand in something in particular that may have left a trace on the ring?

I've had some jewelry make me break out while others do not. It's weird. Maybe some chemical reaction with the metal and your skin. It's worse for me when it's hot weather. Maybe the sweat mixed with the metal causes some kind of reaction.

I asked a similar question on here and was advised to put a coating of clear nail varnish on the inside of the ring.

both the first two answers are right.

It could also be a cleaning solution you used on it if you use anything like that. You can devellop a new allergy to a lot of cleaning chemicals, even if you've used them before.

the silver plate has worn to the base metal, hope you didn't think that was a sterling silver ring, obviously it is not.
