A dentist has said that if they whitened to fast, it can cause tooth pain, even some needing medication. Has anyone had this experience?

It's pretty wobbly and it's next to my 2 big front teeth. I have a lot of teeth missing already and this one is hurting a lot. I don't think 1 more missing will matter that much. I just want to know a way to do it without it hurting any more than it already does.

I need the quickest and least painful way to pull out my top right canine tooth. It's my last one, and the adult tooth above it is coming out the side, which is very common, but it irritates me.

For a while I was nervous cause it felt like one of my front teeth moved slightly when my tongue pushed it but it doesn't feel that way anymore. I'm kinda happy that happened because it made me go to the dentist for the first time a couple years and i've taken better care of my teeth ever since I went to the dentist last month. However, i'm a very paranois person so I worry about losing my teeth anyway. He took x-rays and looked at my teeth and didn't find anything seriously wrong. He just said my gums were inflamed but would go back to normal if I take better care of them. For a while I thought i had periodontitis which may cause tooth loss, but he would have said if I had any bone loss under my gums right? I'm only 17, so if I take care of my teeth better than I used and go to the dentist every 6 months I should't lose any teeth right?

I got a very nice detailed response from some of you. Is it standard to be given pain meds and antibiotics after a root canal as I have gotten neither?

Okay, this year I am falling apart and just have to admit it. I still have alot of dental work that needs to be done but not sure what way would be best. I have had problems with the dentist pulling my teeth but that really isn't his fault (infected teeth) and so I may go back. His office has an oral surgeon that does the iv sedation. Should I fork out the money for that and have the dentist pull my bottom wisdom tooth and fix things on one side of my mouth, then go back the mext month and do the same thing on the other side? I have one wisdom tooth left that is decaying (not sure if that is the source of the infection or not) and feel that it will probably be the next one to give me problems. Have you had iv sedation before and what is it like? I also have alot of problem with bleeding and bruising lately when I get a tooth pulled. Should I have stopped bleeding before I leave the office? Any advise would be helpful.

AND IS THERE DIFFERENT TYPES OF BRACES OR ARE THEY ALL THE SAME?

2007-02-10 14:20:36 · 10 answers · asked by Anonymous

i had on braces but haven't went to a check-up for like 6-7 months. I wonder if it damage ur teeth. Technically, i don't think it would cuz its ON ur teeth and even if u get check-up its still gonna be there, just not tightened.

Also, when you close/open ur mouth and u bite down, does the bottom row aligh perfectly with the top, mines doesn't. When i open/cloe my mouth the bottom teeth seem to be a little toward the left when i bite down.

well some may recognise me over the past few months of me moaning about my dentist and how i'm not happy with the treatment he’s doing for me, to some it up i damaged both my front teeth about 4 years ago in an alcohol related incident (been in pain for all that time with 1 tooth).

anyway ive gone with this new dentist now and absolutely fantastic, he told me what’s the problem straight away, had an x-ray and apparently i have a hole in my tooth inside my gum, ive already had a root canal in there previous what the butcher (previous dentist) did for me that failed, but anyway that tooth is unsavable so having it implanted.

my other tooth which i chipped half way down, keeps failing with the old treatment the butcher did for me (filling) so my new dentist as recommend a veneer.

Also my teeth are quite straight but i have a slight gap in my front teeth and my new dentist says he can close it up for me so having that done. (cont)

It wasnt bad at all...however, today I am having an abscess like pain in the tooth right beside the one they canalled. Also, the one they canalled kind of feels like an abscess as well.

Is this normal? I hate dental pain and it is driving me insane! Surely the one beside the canalled tooth couldnt be abscessed seeing as how they done multiple x rays yesterday!?!?!

Is it possible to get Invisalign braces, but keep a gap. I'll elaborate:
I have a gap in my two front teeth. By no means is it a large gap, but I don't want it closed. Don't ask why, I judt don't. It makes me unique and well, to be honest, I just like it.
So, I was wondering, is it possible to get Invisalign braces and be able to keep a gap. Is there something the dentist can do to prevent the gap from closing.

Any answeres would help.
Thanks in advance to all who choose to answer.

I have a slight swelling/soreness behind my upper incisor tooth. It doesn't hurt but whenever I brush my teeth, they bleed a lot. There's no pain but I'm a bit worried as to what this could probably be. I maintain my teeth quite well and don't have any cavities etc. I'm a non-smooker and I'm 23 yo. Please help if you have any idea what it could be. Thanks!

I have MetLife dental through my employer and I qualify for some assistance on braces, but how much should I expect my monthly payments to be? How much does one typically pay for braces on a monthly schedule?

Well I have perfectly straight teeth, but I have this minor drawback of a big gap between my two front teeth. I was trying to search for things to help close it beside braces (because they are $2000+, and I came across this Google ad, and it looked promising and legit: http://www.teethgap.com/order.htm
Have any of you heard of the Teeth Gap Teeth Affects Bands before? Do they work? I sure hope so because I already ordered them...haha.
