You know, the dentists always told me to get mine pulled because there was no extra room in my mouth. I would have except I got married at 18 and my parents insurance would no longer cover me. Mine hurt while they came in over a period of a few months, but I have all four of mine in and they are fine. The dentist I go to now said "If they fit in your mouth and you can brush them, then there really is no reason to get them pulled". I would stick with that quote. If they don't hurt anymore, they fit in your mouth, and you can brush and floss them, then I would just leave them in.

I'm 26 and never got my wisdom teeth taken out. I had enough room in my mouth and they grew in correctly. A lot of people get them removed because they grow incorrectly (facing the wrong direction) or their mouth doesn't have enough room for them. Wisdom teeth can also be prone to decay. This is another reason why a lot of people get them removed. I got mine sealed after they grew in to prevent decay. I also make sure to brush back there a bit extra as well. Your dentist will let you know if there seems to be any problems or if he suggests taking them out in your next regular check-up. I wouldn't go for an extra check-up unless they are causing you pain or don't seem to look right.

Ashlei, (hey, that's my name!) my wisdom teeth were like yours. They would only hurt like once every 6 months it seems, and it would only be for a day or two at a time. Then, the pain would disappear and I'd forget about it! WELL, the last 2 days this damn wisdom tooth has been KILLING me. I cried today! My gums behind the tooth are so swollen that every time I close my mouth, they get pinched in my jaw!! It's freakin RAW meat back there. Anyway, I'm going straight to the dental clinic Monday morning. I wish I would've dealt with this earlier. That's all I'm sayin.
Good luck!
