A dentist has said that if they whitened to fast, it can cause tooth pain, even some needing medication. Has anyone had this experience?

yes there are side affects...your teeth can get really sensitive and you can get white spots on your teeth. i do the crest stuff and it works really good but after doing it for one treatment my teeth hurt so bad that i hate breathing through my mouth.

I had laser whitening done on my teeth. Was warned that like 60% of patients experience short shooting zings of pain for the first 24 hours. I was one of the 60%. The zings of pain stopped after 24 hours, I got great results.

LINDA,
YOUR DENTIST IS CORRECT. SOME WHITENING METHODS CAN CAUSE YOUR TEETH TO BE SENSITIVE, ESPECIALLY TO COLD. YOU MAY USE SENSODYNE TOOTHPASTE FOR A FEW WEEKS AFTER THE TREATMENT.
